November Monthly Update

Last month was that one awkward month between the chills of Halloween and the, rather quite literal, chills of the Christmas holiday! Still, while we didn't see any new submissions on the month of November, quite a bit still happened!ZQuest Developer Highlight: The New 'Map Tile Grid' Subscreen Wizard
Quests are fun to play and all, but would be nothing without the work put in by the ZQuest Developers - Emily and Connor! We can thank them both for the work they put into the engine, and so we thought we'd take the opportunity to highlight one of the newer features added... the new 'Map Tile Grid' Subscreen Wizard!
Dedicated to expanding upon ZQuest's map system, this new Subscreen Wizard places a grid of 'TileBlock' widgets, to which you can manually place each tile within the grid to establish the bounds of your world...
You can also set the conditions you'd like the automatic system to apply on the grid, ranging from utilising Screen States, the option to show the player's current position through 'Require Current Screen', and even setting the current dmap's 'Floor' to any specific value.

You can even... layer *multiple* overlapping grids at once, each with their own set of unique tiles and conditions. Think of the potential there!
There's a lot more to cover with this addition, but hopefully this served as a useful introduction. If you'd like to try it yourself, download the latest version of ZQuest Classic at zquestclassic.com!

The Gift of the Expo!
The ZQuest Classic Expo is back! For those who may be unfamiliar, the Expo is your opportunity to showcase to everyone what you've been working on for the past year! Whether that be a new quest or a new tileset, the Expo provides an outlet to recieve feedback on your work!
For more information, do check out the Winter Expo 2025 thread, detailing all the information on submission deadlines and guidelines!
One Club at a Time...
Quest Club returns for the 31st time to showcase One Screen Gollab by Ambient Silence! Unlike most other quests on the database, this quest was made by a whopping 20+ people! As such, each screen was made individually - one at a time - with the quest file itself being juggled between all the creators throughout the creative process.
Are you ready to save the Island of Soroe? Well, always be ware, for the Owl watches you...

Feel free to discuss in the Forum Topic, or in the Discord Thread!

And that's it for November! December is sure to bring many gifts, and we look forward to seeing what the Expo has to show for us all!

We missed the Monthly Feature for July, so we'll be posting the features from both July and August into one post. Enjoy! Another month, another feature! This time, let's take a look at July!
Introducing the PureZC Cambria Contest!
What's that? Another contest has arrived to PureZC? That's right! You'll have until the 31st of August to build your quests, to which everyone will be able to play the fruits of your labour!
As long as your entry uses the Cambria tileset, is made in either ZC 2.55 or 3.0, and is made within the timeframe of the contest, you're good to go!
We look forward to seeing what everyone builds... and we look forward to showcasing them in a future Monthly Feature!
Three New Quests!
There are three new quests to report for July, each providing wholly unique experiences!
First up is Canvas 64 by Joaish (RedTribeLink)! Made for the 64 Screen Contest, this quest places you into a world completely devoid of colour... With a paintbrush in hand, what will it take to bring colour back to the world?

Second comes The Legend of Revali: Hate's End by MischeviousMalfais! Set one hundred years before Nintendo's Breath of the Wild, you'll play as Revali as he grows ever more frustrated with his current destiny of being an accessory to Link's glory...

Third is This is The Only Room by DigitalDetective47! This quest provides thirty different variations of a singular dungeon room; sometimes you'll find a small change, other times you'll find a change quite... exciting!

An Enchanting Quest...
Quest Club is back with another quest in store! Play through Zelda: Flow of Time (Remastered) - DAWN VERSION by Obderhode, and let people know what you thought of it!
Or, if you'd like, join one of many voice chats in the PureZC discord, to play the quest and have fun with everyone else as they explore the land of Gly'cov!

With June gone, it's time to look back at the past month!Bringing PureZC to Social Media!
Staff have been exploring different social media options for PureZC, and we're excited to reveal the official Bluesky account!
Expect more details on this in a forum post in the next coming days!
Take a Trip Down Screenshot Lane
Following a short downtime period on their original website, the Screenshot of the Week Archives are now hosted on PureZC! The archives can also be accessed from the Community drop-down menu on the website header as well.
All of the old features are still available on this new website, such as the Leaderboards and User Profiles pages! So if you've submitted anything, or want to see what other members have submitted in the past, go check the website out!
Special thanks again to nicklegends and Taco Chopper for their efforts in making this transition as smooth as possible!
A New Pack for All!
While there are no new quests to report for June, Mani's NES-Style Pack by Mani Kanina will help all questmakers build upon their NES inspired quests with delicious new dungeon and item graphics!
Need some new Bow and Arrow sprites? How about some Potion sprites? Or if you're feeling daring, how about a new dungeon set to play with? Mani Kanina has you covered!

An Enchanting Quest...
Quest Club returns yet again with another quest! We polled our Quest Clubbers, and the majority chose the fantastic Hyrule Fantasy Gaiden: Spell of Mudora by runa!
Very much a modernised Zelda 1 experience, this quest provides the security of nostalgia threaded into the awe of the modern era! In this quest, you'll play as Zelda to seek the 8 Pages of Mudora across a vast - yet fierce - land!
Feel free to play the quest, and give your thoughts in the assigned Quest Club thread. Looking to watch others try the quest out? Well, feel free to join our Quest Club Discord calls too - these take place every Saturday!
