Hyrule Fantasy Gaiden: Spell of Mudora by runa

This quest was both in Deedee's list, but was primarily from the community list so I'll list both of the reasons for request.

Spell of Mudora is very much a Z1-like quest, but has a lot of modern stuff and QoL updates added in it. This time, you play as Princess Zelda, armed with her trusty bow and arrows!

I haven't actually played this one, but it looked really fun from watching others play it and it'd give me an excuse to play it myself potentially. Cool Z1-ish quest where you play as Zelda and have nonconventional items, seems neat.

Hyrule Fantasy Gaiden: Spell of Mudora is one of the strongest Z1-likes in recent times. It has an excellent overworld and set of dungeons, and you get to explore them as none other than Zelda herself! What's not to love?

I'm very excited for this one personally. Not only have I been looking to play almost every quest my friends have made, but this one is also on the shorter side. Admittedly after the scale of last QC, as well as the sheer momentum of the two before it, this one seems to be on a bit of a smaller scale, and it'll be nice to have some kind of breather. Due to its length. I hope you all show up for the scheduled VCs this time around!

Played through this one a couple months back or so, great quest.  I won't spoil anything but this one has an arcade quality to it in the best way.  It's almost like you can see the "insert coin" prompt as you scour the overworld for secrets and romp through the dungeons.  Quality quest that tugs at your nostalgia but feels fresh and polished, enjoy!

Quest completed, my review of it can be found here. The short version is that I really enjoyed my time with it, and I look forward to runa's future projects!

Can't believe I missed this quest when it was released.  Just started tonight and I'm really enjoying it.

Completed levels 1 & 3.  Haven't yet found level 2 but I think I know where to look.  Really impressed that this is more than just a "classic feel" quest -- the sand puzzles in level 3 so far indicate this isn't just going to be 8+ NES-style levels.

Infinite arrows are fun.

Spoiler thoughts so far:

Glad to hear everyone has been enjoying their time so far! This quest club had given me motivation to work and finish a huuuge update I've been working with a lot of new features (like overworld map tracking and difficulty modes!) and lots of fixes, balance changes, quality of life and and even some new items/item reworks! So chances are, if anyone's ran into some weird stuff or bugs, they have already been addressed!

Also been working on a 2nd quest. Currently done with Levels 1-5 in that. But gonna release the huge updates to 1st quest content hopefully soonish, 2nd quest will come later on whenever it's done. It's taking a long time because the dungeons are more complex ;)

Almost finished level 5.  Love the Hinox.  Just need to finish one more sliding block ice puzzle for the boss key.

Levels 2 & 4 were really fun.

The item from level 4 really opens up a lot of seashell exploring...really happy I took the "display secret" ring from the old man instead of another heart container.

I want to add that this was one of my fav ZC quests on the PZC database!  Always love playing classic quests that mesh Z1, Z2, Z3 & Z4 graphics and mechanics.

Each level was enjoyable and the custom bosses were great fun to fight.  So looking forward to the 2nd Quest when it comes out!

Finally got around to finishing this, and all I can say is: bravo.  This was a joy to play.  Thanks so much runa for putting this together.

This quest hit all the Z1 + Z2 nostalgia feels that I needed.

Only thing I looked up on YouTube was where the blue ring was -- had finished L7 without it and figured I should have had it by then, whoops.  Loved that the map was just familiar enough but had enough detail to hide such a secret.  Didn't find all the seashells either (16/20) but all good.

Level 9 was juuuust challenging enough.

Super cool to hear that a 2nd quest is in the works.
