Not sure what Anthus means by calling his entry slop, it looks perfectly nice to me and got my vote. I'm a sucker for just a nice application of a pretty tileset.

 

I'm gonna be submitting a few Bikdip's Adventure 3 screenshots over the coming weeks, and as it's a project I'm co-developing I feel that I should clarify who made which screen. In this case, this screen was made by the lead developer, Josh/Jish/BikdipOnABus, but he gave explicit permission for me to submit any screenshots from BA3 on both of our behalves.

 

Haylee's gives a good spooky atmosphere with its limited colours, which I'm also quite fond of as an aesthetic.

 

Twilight Knight's looks pretty good too! I've primarily worked with the 1.92 version of DoR and I haven't seen these building tiles before, so it's either custom or from a later version (or my memory just sucks), but it's a solid screen.

... Man, Anthus gets it on nostalgia alone. So many good times playing around with that tileset, even if nothing really ever came of it.

 

(I really do love the atmosphere in Haylee's shot, though. It's simple, but sometimes less is more.)

I meant it kinda ironically, since it's a cool set, but it's also pretty much impossible to make a quest with it as it's incomplete (in spite of the tileset's name, it's missing a lot of tiles, and it's quite disorganized)

Thank youuu! admittedly there's already something I've changed about this shot in the final quest (The sword that the player is holding is more visible), but outside of that, I do enjoy how that shot came out. I kind of love environmental storytelling and it's something I wanna do a lot more of in the future.

I voted for AutumnHaunted, loving the classic DoR style and those signs on the houses. Very nostalgic on this one.

 

Anthus is the clear winner here, those are amazing graphics. Now we need to see at least a mini-quest with these graphics ;-)

 

And as for Haylee that is a perfectly fine icy cave screen. The balance with the darker walls and floors is great and clever, so our eyes may not burn from too much icy-ness.

 

 

As for my own shot, I wonder if anyone recognises the NPC on this screen. Most of you should know him :-)

And to answer AutumnHaunted, yes those house graphics are custom textures for the LttP houses. Wanted it to look more like bricks, planks and shingles.

Gonna make a quick comment while I have a minute.

 

Anthus - I love this shot! I know you said that it's not feasible to make a full quest with this tileset, you nailed the look and the aesthetics.

I especially appreciate how the Final Fantasy (Seiken Densetsu 1?) sprite looks. I'm not sure if it was built into the tileset or not, but his

palette and look match the tile set perfectly. Voted Here.

 

AutumnHaunted - I have never gotten around to playing a Bikdip's game, but was always intrigued on how 2 was made in 1.90. Definitely

on my list to play. Shot looks great. Gives me Minish Cap vibes for sure.

 

Haylee - Of all the shots, this is the one I want to play the most. It gives me Demo Quest vibes. That quest was probably my first

or second Zquest game I played, and to this day is still one of my favorites. It was the true "Ultimate Mode" of Zelda 1. The palette, the lack of

outlines, the sub-cave, it all brings me back.

 

Twilight Knight - I love this shot! The "PZC" on the building is so cute! The NPC on the outside, the look of the building and the grassy surroundings.

It's such a charming shot!
