May is over, and so let us turn back the clock and take a look at what appeared on PureZC!

The results are in for the 64 Quest Contest! There were many categories to vote on, but the people have decided on their favourite quest of the contest...

Canvas 64 by RedTribeLink!

Congratulations to RedTribeLink on the achievement, as well as winning the 'Best Use of 64 Screens' category!

Thank you everyone for submitting, playing, and voting throughout the contest - it is much appreciated, and we hope to hold another contest like this in the future.

New Quests!

Darkside by Chefbear has been released on the database! If you enjoyed playing this quest during the 64 Quest Contest, why not give it another go?
For those who haven't tried it yet, expect to be thrilled in this survival horror mystery, using both your keyboard and mouse to explore the darkness...

A new month has appeared, and with it many new things to go through!

The 64 Quest Contest!

All of the contest entries are out now, with a whopping 11 quests and demos available to play! Thank you all for your submissions, helping make this community thrive with creativity!

For those looking for nice, bite-sized quests, look no further than these entries! If you feel like you have some feedback for each entry, feel free to discuss them in the 64 Quest Contest forum! Check out the Auxiliary Polls and the Main Poll as well to help ensure your favourite entry has a shot at winning!

Quest Club Catch-Up Month!

It is officially Quest Club Catch-Up Month! The regular Quest Club group sessions will be taking place as usual on PureZC's Discord Server, but instead of going through a different quest each time... YOU will be given the choice of what to play!

As always, all Quest Club Voice Chats happen on Saturdays, 6:00 PM CST to 8:00 PM CST. Hope to see you there!

Screen Rebirth Returns!

Screen Rebirth is back with a vengeance! The first contest under the new management of Rambly and Professor Bedwetter, Screen Rebirth 11, is up now - who will come out on top?

A wave of tiles is let loose upon us!

Four new loose tile submissions made their way to the database in April. Orithan's Fire, Ice and Light Arrows for 16 bit tilesets is a set of elemental arrows designed for more detailed tilesets such as Pure and DoR. Cobgoblin's three submissions - Fixed LttP Forest Brush - A Link to the Brush, Flapjack Mountains!, and Mountain Ruins - are heavily customised variants of assets from the Gameboy Zelda titles and A Link to the Past, with the forest brush tiles being corrections of tiles incorrectly ripped into ZC all the way back in 2001!

Congratulations to: And that is the end of April! Hope you had a great month, and here's to a wonderful May!

Looking Back on March

Posted by Matthew , 08 Apr 2025
Although April is firmly underway, we want to take a look back at March and see what that month brought us!

New Quests
In the month of March, the database saw two new quests arrive:

First is Legend of Zelda: Link's Journey North by Airfart!

This quest is set right after Link saves Zelda in the first Zelda game, where Gannon returns to take Zelda back! Turns out the Gannon Link faced in the first game was... a fake!?

Second up is Magequest 2 by coolgamer012345!

Although an old quest, Magequest 2 makes their database debut - play as a Mage as they venture through the world...

Quest Club Returns
Although last month saw Quest Clubbers enjoy Wanderlust - A game no one plays by Solynutt, the last Monthly Feature did not have the opportunity to cover it. If you still wish to play this quest, feel free to do so and leave your thoughts in the Quest Club thread!

The current quest to play for the latest Quest Club is Go Gollab: Conflictions of Morality by Ambient Silence. Explore a selection of unique worlds, utilizing one of nine characters - each with different special items! Be sure to share your thoughts in the new Quest Club thread!

New Database Submissions!

A flurry of submissions hit the database in February! Rambly uploaded two new pieces of music - Sky Planet Horizon, First Mix and Temple Remains (Oracle of Seasons) - the first new music submissions in nearly a year. Two new loose tiles submissions were uploaded too - Shane added new GameBoy dungeon walls with his [Gameboy] Seven Dungeon Sets tilesheet, while Orithan's Wells for various tilesets is exactly what you think it is: sets of wells for Pure, Dance of Remembrance, EZGBZ and more!
There were three script submissions as well! Ywkls' Simple 2.55 Shop utilises the signpost combos in 2.55 and 3.0 to make freeform shop objects. Additionally, Alucard648's Assorted speed modifier scripts and Assorted FFC scripts 3 packs include various scripts that either affect the player's movement speed on screens or emulate the Link's Awakening instrument cutscene respectively.
