The Legend of Zelda: Rebirth aims to adapt the original
Legend of Zelda into a game mechanically closer to subsequent 2D entries without sacrificing the original's design philosophy, both in terms of gameplay and world building. Secrets may lie where you least expect, and Hyrule has been given a new coat of paint that not only serves as a visual upgrade but as a subtle map that leads to the many secrets of Hyrule. Dungeons have an intended order built to be broken; sequence breaking is encouraged, and the world is open-ended enough that future upgrades in some playthroughs may become the initial way to gain those items in others. Items interact with Hyrule in new and fun ways, and you may see corners of the world that you've never seen before.
