The Legend of Zelda: Reprise is an adaptation of the original
Hyrule Fantasy into one mechanically closer to subsequent 2D entries, without sacrificing the original's open-ended design philosophy. Hyrule has been given a fresh coat of paint that not only serves as a visual upgrade to the original, but also serves as a subtle map to the many secrets in the world. Dungeons have an intended order built to be broken; sequence breaking is encouraged, and the world is open enough that future upgrades in some playthroughs may become the initial way to gain those items in others. Items interact with Hyrule in new and fun ways, and you'll discover many corners of the world you've never seen before.
Reprise doesn't attempt to make the original Zelda feel like other Zelda games; rather, it's a recontextualization and celebration of the original and what makes it so great.
