I just did these since I like to have a wooden shield for some quests. And I did shieldless since beta 15 allows it for shieldless Link. I can't do the side view though, so you're on your own with that 
I just did the wooden shields based on the shields of DoR Link with the regular shield. I have 2 types: A regular wooden shield and the deku shield. The shield sprites for the subscreen are purely custom.

u suk ERR I MEAN rock dude. 
No, seriously, these would work in SoP, since it doesn't make sense that a kid in a poor(ish) village has a metal shield.
That, and, this is a 2.10 quest, so there is no shieldless Link. But nobody cares about my quest details.
Regardless, these are awesome Link tiles.

You actually did a great job with your conversions. 
The shield sprites could have a little more detail, but mainly I'd suggest coloring them into a different CSet (or increasing it to 8-bit color if you're using 2.11), and that can be done with the existing sprites regardless of their current coloring.
Normally I'd count you donw for lacking the right-facing sprites... buuut... I've TRIED drawing shieldless DoR Link tiles. It's hard. Hopefully someone will be able to manage it, but until then you get a 5.
