I can't Draw 8bit is an classic style quest, or at least that's what I'd love to say! As the title implies, I am rather poor with 8bit graphics so while the quest uses the classic tileset, many of the things I have added will not exactly be 8bit-ish. The gameplay on the other hand, is where this quest shines!
The quest was originally about the concept of taking Zelda 1, then break it down to, fixes up some odd stuff, and then putting it back together! Evidently, this quest is still about eight triforce dungeons and then a final showdown with ganon. However, many small annoyances has been fixed. The wand for example, is now useful when you get it and can be used against several bosses and monsters. Another thing would be that the bosses are now meant to be at an challenge level that matches the dungeon, rather then being way too easy!
Many such things are just plain gone, however, the quest still retains most of the originals openness; You can enter mostly any dungeon in any order, provided you can get to them. One could also in theory beat the main game without ever grabbing a sword. The quest is in this aspect not just open in therms of where you can go, but also in how you decide to play it!
But yes, as I said, this was the original idea. The quest has since then evolved further and become something else. After I was done with ganon I felt I wanted to add some extra challenge, but due to a combination of lazy testing team (at the time) and me being bored, I have made a whole bunch of extra content. And evidently, the extra content is at this point in time almost double the content of the rest of the quest. Which is one of the reasons why the quest has had such a delay for release!
Of course, this does not mean that the extra content starts after ganon is dead, no, most of it can in fact be accessed very early on, but it does however provide a bigger challenge. The rewards from finding and doing the extra dungeons will be worthwhile though, otherwise there is no point in it. With the exception of the "final" (and hardest) bonus dungeon, all of them provide you with items and upgrades that will help you along the way. Ganon may as well be a pushover by the time you challenge him in combat!
