Race For Power is a (currently) 14-dungeon quest designed to be a practice quest for me, but also an experimental quest. I have constantly been scrapping ideas for over a year, but I have stuck with this one for a while and so I decided to actually try to finish this quest. I don't intend to make this quest "the next big thing", but I intend to learn from this quest to see what will work, what would have worked, and what will not work.

Story (Explained)

The Triforce is once again the central issue of this quest, specifically the Triforce of Power. Link is faced with the situation that Hyrule is in potential danger as many mysterious threats come around that threaten to kill the Royal Family and conquer the kingdom. He must collect the Triforce for the security of Hyrule, in case if the threats were intended to be fulfilled. Link must race against the antagonists to collect as many Temple Keys out of the eight as possible, and must even try to steal each other's Temple Keys as all eight are needed to open the Door of Time, which seals the Triforce of Power. Chronologically, these events take place about 200 - 250 years before Ocarina of Time.

Gameplay

Although the quest maintains the usual "go through the dungeons" system, many gameplay add-ons are intended to be included to make things more interesting. First off, the quest has a scoring system, which is designed to be not only a competition tool, but also a experience system. Magic containers and many abilities will be gained and improved as the score goes up, based on killing enemies, exploration, side quests, and random achievements. Due to a certain turn of events, Link will eventually acquire all 3 pieces of the Triforce and will actually be able to use it within the gameplay. It won't be as complex as a wish granter, but the pieces will power-up Link significantly and individually, but also at a great price. Another part of the quest will be enchantments. Many of Link's selectable items (like swords and boomerangs) can be given a temporary elemental enchantment, or a permanent copy of the item with the enchantment.

Graphics

I'm using the EZGBZ tileset for this quest, for a mixture of variety and simplicity of the tiles, which I find more suiting for myself to use. I'm not quite that great at getting a screen to look good, but I am going to spend a lot of time on trying to make the screens look beautiful.

Scripting

I'm one of the people who likes to resort to scripting when I come across problems. Stacked on top of the fact that I particularly enjoy scripting, expect A LOT of scripts for this quest, along with custom bosses and such.
