I LP'd this game and it was quite brutal from start to finish! Never found the boomerang or the Hero's Dungeon but I beat it so good enough for me! xD

Tileset is interesting and some of the enemies were nifty. Good music selection too!

I haven't finished this game yet but I think I'm pretty darn close. So far 85 games in about 17 hours. I'm stuck at that white gleeok, the "zenethian" armor is not enough.

This game is designed in a similar to Zelda 1 with beefed up enemies and limited arsenal. The enemies themselves aren't that tough but you aren't given stuff like hammer or hookshot. I could not find the huge wallet and had to give up 2 heart containers in this quest. For what this quest was trying to achieve, I will give it a four. A well designed challenging game does not troll the player but allows them to think critically. Some stuff just made no sense whatsoever but this isn't a story-driven quest so it doesn't matter. There are a lot of bugs dude I wonder who beta tested this but whatever. Some stuff just seems too illogical, if goriya town hates ganon they should sell the magic boomerang for cheaper. I guess people like money more than freedom in world of this quest.

The original 2nd quest had a lot of trolling too, so I won't mark too much off. It's a great quest but I wouldn't recommend it to anybody who hasn't beaten the second quest.

Cons:
  • WAY too much trolling
  • MD3 boss was too hard for the arsenal you had
  • Level 5 and 7 pissed me so bad
  • Level 6 had an illogical sequence
  • Level 8 is too difficult to even try to go back to and it's boss was surprisingly easy
  • For a classic style quest the overworld seems empty.
  • Annoying glitches
  • How in gods name does a helmet make fire!?
  • I feel like nonexistent cellars are illogical
Pros:
  • Mostly challenging without being impossible
  • You feel really good after getting a piece of the triforce
  • Not sure but I think this quest encourages going out of order after getting dungeon items because some later levels were easier than later levels

Still one of my favorite old-school hard-type quests. The Demo tileset really is nice, and some of the odd palette issues JQ original had have been fixed. The enemies starting in the second overworld are much stronger than before, so beware! Loads of LOZ styled fun.

It's a "trollface" quest with a wacky sense of humor, but not insanely difficult (only quite difficult!), so it's still fun. Gave me a new appreciation for the candle, as you don't get the sword (err, spoon?) right away! Be warned: there are a LOT of "money or life" rooms. I don't know what happens if you run entirely out of hearts, so it's best to save up your rupees. Not that they're all that expensive, though...
