Here's my thoughts:
- Starting out with a magic weapon is cool, but it being paired with the magic book and with self damaging fire is a bit unfortunate. I found I was hurting myself just as much as the enemies until I found another weapon.
- The MP regen rate is painfully slow. I'd much rather have higher costs but faster regen, personally. Since you start off with a magic weapon and all.
- Enemy difficulty is a little on the higher end, what with unnerfed bats and four shot stalfos in level 1. I'd recommend against filling all 10 enemy slots in a room so soon into the quest and to watch out for situations where a player can get cheap-shotted by poor spawns. Take for example the beamos room where as soon as you step into it they fire at you.
- There's some weird solidity issues here and there, like in the boss room I couldn't walk through some of the ordinary floor tiles. Also in the room with the boss key I noticed the ladder was triggering with every step and when I walked up I got softlocked.
