Here's how this idea started. I've had a recent urge to go back and play through the 1st quest again, but I have some gripes with how Z1 plays. Certain things like door repair rooms really bugged me, so I took them out!
This game is also being made for one of my friends that doesnt play a lot of Nintendo. That being said, the puzzle aspect of the game has been made easier to understand. All bombable walls have cracks, all burn trees look different, push blocks stand out, etc. However, the combat has been upped to compensate for getting more hearts and more items early on. For example, the L2 Ring is usually found in L9, but it has been moved to an area that can be accessed after getting the whistle (D5). So even if you think you know how to play the 1st Quest, theres enough changes to make you want to explore. Level 2 (Blue) enemies have been given an upgrade, and I've redone all the boss fights as well. This quest was also a chance for me to play around with using the newbie boss script.
With all that said and done, this is still Z1 at its core. Im not really changing how you can traverse through dungeons and the overworld, but making it feel different at the same time. Its like Z1 got a nice haircut and a good-looking suit >_>
