Also, project is dead. Well by project is dead I mean I don't plan to work on it any more. If Dragonite or Shane want to pick it up and keep working on it I'm not going to slap them in the face and say "NO! IT'S MY FRICKEN GAME AND I SAY IT'S DEAD!"
By Shane and Owen, developed in EZGBZ 2.50 in ZC 2.50.2
The Legend of Zelda: Sword of Ruin is a Zelda Classic 2.50 project with a lengthy history. After the completion of Link's Quest for the Hookshot, Moosh began to work on what was known as Sword of Ruin. It was being made in classic and provided a cool concept for a quest. It gained a lot of interest and anticipation. Unfortunately, not long after the third dungeon's completion, the quest was no longer continued until sometime around 2012, the project was being recreated in EZGBZ 2.50 by Moosh and Owen who was formally Dragonite at the time. I was recruited but sadly didn't get to contribute much before the project was discontinued yet again.
Now present day, two weeks ago Owen proposed the revival of Sword of Ruin and heavily rework some aspects. We began actual work a few days later, giving us a week and a half's worth of development. We created new palettes, redesigned screens and added new things to spice up the quest. We both believe this is now in a presentable form. Due to such a small time frame of development we could not make it in time for a demo, but we hope to push one out asap. We will start up a project page when we have the demo and perhaps a trailer ready. In the meantime, we have a request for you guys that will help us.
We will be providing a download link to the previous version of this quest in our first update. A demo that goes all the way up to the end of the first main dungeon and a little over. It includes cutscenes, interesting puzzles, a unique sidequest involving an optional dungeon criticized for being challenging. We want you to pick it apart and tell us how you feel about it. We have some feedback from the Spring 2012 Expo already, but we could use some more up-to-date feedback. If you don't know what to say, we will be providing a questionnaire also in the first update.
We hope you look forward to the new demo that will be released hopefully by the end of this year!
