A pretty fun one. I thought the tileset was interesting and the premise was original. I liked using limitless arrows, too. Projectiles are somehow always more satisfying than a sword jab.
With that being said it was not without its issues.
First off, while I totally appreciate the concept of playing Zelda I would never ever chose her over playing Link. I do totally think there is room in the 40 year old Zelda universe for other main character quest like this, though, but she just would never be my first choice.
Onto a much bigger issue for me; the shield situation. Having to push a button to use the shield was a huge bummer the whole quest, plus it took away the use of a b button item. It made battle a little clunky and fiddly, having to constantly switch between the two. I conceptually get that you cant hold a bow and shield simultaneously, but some other solution like a magic barrier or forcefield tied to a magic meter would have made things much smoother. Especially in the dungeons where every statue seemed to shoot fireballs from every corner and in every direction. There was a shit ton of enemy projectiles everywhere (level 9).
I disliked that you couldnt zoom in on the map.
While I really like the tileset there were times it was hard to read in dungeons. There were a lot places where you spatially couldnt distinguish what you could walk over or behind. I know its a challenge in 8 bit, but maybe some shadows and playing with the amount of contrast within certain tiles could help them read a little easier.
Overall a good effort and a solid substantially sized quest.

Description
Spell of Mudora is very much a Z1-like quest, but has a lot of modern stuff and QoL updates added in it.
Features:
- Bow & Arrow instead of Sword as the main A-button weapon (no sword available at all, in fact!)
- enemy defenses have been rebalanced to be possible to beat the game without a sword
- Shield is no longer a passive item, instead it locks you onto place when you use it. Also has some other added functionality!
- new items and new takes on existing Z1 items and mechanics
- new enemies, some from later Zelda games
- modified enemies, expect to see some twists to familiar Z1 enemies, as well as new variants of old enemies
- custom bosses and minibosses
- miniboss portals in dungeons
- there are a few choice based items, but not all lock you into a certain choice
- No door repair rooms!
- 20 Secret Seashells to collect
- ladder is janky and buggy, so it usually is disabled in certain platforming puzzle rooms
- F6 cannot be used to continue, only to save. The quest's whistle equivalent will take you to the entrace of dungeons. You can continue when you die.

- fixed lots of graphical errors (undercombos missing, tile errors, layering issues)

- nerfed the miniboss of Level 8
-nerfed the boss of Level 3
- nerfed the boss of Level 2
- made Level 5's start flow better by making the staircase stay there permanently

UPDATE 20/10/2024:
