I don't think this is as bad as others do, I have no use for it personally. But you could ignore the sword tip and have it run off the screen, or with some clever animation and combo cycling have it look like the screen scrolls down the sword length.
It does need more colors and better shading though.

It could use some work, but it's definitely a good accomplishment. One bit of advice: for the gem, color one of the two lighter "triangles" with a third, darker gold color. Also, on the blade, the light source is coming from the right, but on the hilt, it's apparently shining from directly above. Oftentimes mirroring an object doesn't work if the light sources isn't coming from directly overhead for the whole graphic.
Why did you include all those different CSets and flipped versions?... Is that supposed to be a golden version?
Anyway, this isn't very useful, but it does HAVE a use, so I won't complain about practical purposes.
