Oh boy. Yuurand, where do I start? It's the best ZeldaClassic quest on the market, right up there with Panoply of Calatia, that's where.
Aside from having an all-star cast of playable characters from various classic quests, it's got 8 overworlds to choose from, and also a mode with randomized area transitions if you want more.
It's even got a couple of fun special modes if the regular formula is tiring you.
And alongside that, Yuurand will take a hell of a while to 100% with it's large achievement board. Some are as simple as clearing a map, some involve basically going to Hell and beating up Omega Cyborg Satan as a toddler with a NERF pistol.
And most of the achievements have nice rewards, ranging from new characters to alternate outfits, alongside some more fun stuff that I won't spoil for you. *tip*
Best Metroidvania I've played, easily. It's just that kinda genre that goes hand-in-hand with being randomized.

Easily said, with Yuurand on the market, what's the point of downloading other quests? Especially if you're a fan of metroidvanias and/or randomizers.
This here is what I know PureZC for. A bunch of whacky people that decide to snap the engine in half and go against all of its limitations.

My congratulations go to the devs.

Many very cool heavy scripted custom bosses are there, I enjoy fighting against them very much with Wind Blade, Float and Enhance. I believe Yuurand is the best battle action ZC quest now.

Okay, now that I've actually sat and played this a few times, I will say this is probably one of the most comprehensive quests on the database so far. Lots and lots of replayability, several ways to play, tons of characters to choose from...this quest has a lot going for it, and I'm glad to have been able to help iron out any further bugs and such for it (mostly in terms of multiplayer, though that said, said multiplayer is very fun once you get it going!).

Pros:
- Tons of replayability and customization. You can play solo, with a following partner, or with another player (usually via Parsec).
- Most if not all of the spells in the game are unique and well-made. The character-exclusive ones are nicely done too and reflect the character they portray (especially notable if you've been following this line of quests for awhile).
- The labyrinths are nicely built for a mix of challenge and exploration. Even if you know one of them inside and out, the items you get will alter your path.

Neutral:
- The achievement system is well-made. That said, if you plan to fill it out, prepare to invest some time and a fair bit of salt for some of them.
- Someone did say that the final area is a bit tedious since it has to always be cleared for story mode. That is thankfully not the case anymore as of a recent update, as if you clear the final area once, it stays clear, sans the final boss.

Cons:
- There are some cases where I do wish you could abort a run without the use of a warp point, but I'm guessing that's software limitations talking there.
- The true final boss in his powered up form is EEEEEEEUGH. Possible, but...EEEEEUGH. Fight at your own risk.

All in all, good stuff to everyone who made this. Easy 5/5~

Oh, I never reviewed this? Whoops!
This is an absolutely amazing quest. It doesn't feel at all like a standard ZC quest, with a fully custom item system and basically EVERYTHING being scripted. So many characters, all with unique stats and a signature ability. This is pure awesomeness.

Russ and Aevin obviously put in a lot of care and effort into this project. It brings together Hitodama and Yuurei, together with it's own share of content. Even if it's a randomizer, I would say this is the ultimate entry in this quest's series, in every way. The playable characters are very unique and fun, with many cool weapons and abilities. Probably the main factor of replayability. The boss-fights are pretty awesome and fit all their characters. Each of the stories are an interesting experience (even though many of them make you feel left hanging, considering the labyrinth). The areas are plentiful, so this quest offers a lot of variety. You guys did a great job with all of this.

The "Yuurand" labyrinth takes the original map from Yuurei (which this quest includes too) and makes it's own unique map out of it. It's worth exploring both of them.
The "Living" labyrinth has a completely different feel, with it's outdoor theme and unique areas. I like how fresh this feels. Lots of fun! A really great addition to Yuurand.

Now then, I might have quite a few negative things to list, but that doesn't mean much. No quest is perfect.

- Beware, this is spoilery. The ending is hidden behind hard to find collectibles in bonus areas, which you have to find every single one of. On top of that, the bonus areas are not hidden cleverly. The originally intended hint to finding them is non-existant. So the actual way players will find them is through experimentation. It feels bad because it doesn't make sense (unless you know the originally intended hint).
- The ending is further delayed by a final area that's the same in every playthrough. Hurts the replayability. Overall I just think the ending takes too long to get to for what it is. It would have been better if it were at the end of the labyrinth, for most characters.
- Some areas here and there are a bit too spammy in the amount of enemies and projctiles. This is talking about normal difficulty (and higher i guess). The final main area of the Yuurand map especially feels too unforgiving.
- If you play a whole lot of this quest or this quest's series, some areas and gimmicks might start feeling repetitive, taking some fun out of exploration. It makes sense though and all the areas by themselves are still fun.
- And then I've got a couple complaints about minor polish, which I can't all remember off the top of my head. But they're in the veins of: "You can't refresh active buffs", "The elemental system is too unclear" or "Poison's visual effect doesn't involve poison".

But yeah, fantastic work Russ, Aevin and everyone else who worked hard on this.

Edit (over a year later): how
