I replayed this recently having played it first in early 2015. Since then, the quest has indeed been polished very nicely. All of the real annoyances, bugs, and downright unfair parts of the quest have been nerfed or fixed enough that it is an enjoyable play through to the end.
Others have already said it better than I can, but the design of this quest is brilliant. The dungeons are all complex, yet straightforward at the same time. The overworld is enjoyable and easily navigated with shortcuts. There are lots of secrets to find in previously explired areas, so be observant.
The only possible con I can think of is a lack of custom bosses. Personally, I think custom scripted bosses are overrated and badly executed in most of the quests I've played, so no loss IMO.
Honestly, I think this quest belongs somewhere in the top 10 of ZC. If you havent played it yet, or maybe if you haven't played since it was first released, you ought to give this quest a try.

It has been updated and polished many times as you can see and I must say, in it's current form, it's a tier-1 quest in the DB. The levels are deep and complex, the design solid, the idea of the central tower is perfectly executed, and there's just a ton of fun gameplay to be had across the board. It's challenging without overwhelming. Quibbles are few. There's still one enemy I'm not sure I'm sold on because of the havoc it can cause. The final boss is better but still has some issues. A couple times I found the path forward a little obscure. But overall this is an excellent, excellent quest that all fans of ZC should play.

If i could rate this quest higher than five i would. Everything was awesome. the dungeon design, the puzzles, the overworld, the choice of music, etc. I just had a blast completing it and i easily recommend this quest to anyone.
Can't wait for the sequel.

Easily one of my favorite 2.5 quests yet, you guys did a superb job with this one! The idea of the final level being so close at hand the entire game was an epic move, and the other 8 levels are chock-full of puzzling goodness (especially level 8, those mirror puzzles are quite ingenious!). I am a fan of the Pure Tileset also, so seeing that as the quest's primary graphics point was engaging. The soundtrack for the quest is spectacular, with my personal favorite songs being level 5, 6 and 8. The final boss was surprisingly well done, considering it wasn't a fully scripted battle (or was it? It seemed relatively custom, yet without the finesse of bosses in Isle of Rebirth for example). Altogether, very pleased with my 19+ hours of gameplay here! 5/5 from me!
Psyched for the sequel, whenever that happens!

This is indeed a very interesting quest, specially in the dungeon design department. The overworld is clearly above average and the dungeons are full of good ideas and feel super explorable. I only played until Level 6, I started to play another thing and I lost my momentum with this quest. I hope to go back to the quest in the future. The two first levels can be executed better, but after that, the quest get really good. Level 3 is my favorite.
