
Now you might be thinking something along the lines of "wow Zack you f*rking liar, The Legend of Zelda¹ had no chests! This isn't old school!" to which I would say you are correct. But I would counter that because the past is unreturnable and therefor unexperienceable that any sort of capture of the past must necessarily be informed by our contemporary contexts. Any idea we, as a society, hold about the past is simple delusion, fantasy. To wit, a legend.
