Well, I think we both intended to take a bit of a hiatus after releasing demo 2, but we did actually wrap up a totally new mini-dungeon in the last few weeks, so wanted to show off a little. This is the smallest one yet, but it comes right before another (maybe quite large!) main dungeon, so we didn't want to create a huge pacing problem. As the player is now a bit more funneled in terms of item progression, we can really start combining a lot of the navigation and dungeon state puzzles that we emphasized in levels 2 and 3.
We want to keep pushing the mechanics as well, so here's something new - a permanent liftable object which can be carried and left between screens. Here's a short video showing off what kind of puzzle interactions are possible with this.
Not shown, but these can also appear on the subscreen, with offsets to show their X/Y position within the room (just like the hero does):
Finally, a little taste of the next overworld area where level 4 is located - Sheik is cooking again. Players who finished the demo can probably guess where we're headed for next:
Looks familiar, doesn't it?
We probably will slow down a bit - there are some other projects, like Three Crests, that I want to give some attention to - but I feel a lot better having Demo 2 done and the plate is now a bit clearer for us.
