Greetings everyone!

I am aware that I once wanted to do a collab quest with someone, but the tileset and incompatibility with my other quests made it impossible to finish it. This time I've taken the initiative and started the basics of the quest by making a few starting overworld screens to give a hint on how I'd like the overworld to look like. I also did the first dungeon already (Level 1 - Green). Level 2 - Turquoise is currently in works. I will remain the only one responsible for all dungeons.

What I'd love to have is a classic overworld designer who knows the classic tileset very well and who is creative enough to be able to design a full 8x16 overworld in the classic style, similar to the official add-on quests. I am a dungeon, enemy, item and quest rule specialist, while my overworld design skills are only mediocre at best. Also, my ideas often come to a stop when I spend hours in overworld screen editing.

Of course your work will be credited and you will be considered a co-creator of the whole quest. If you have been a fan of the Mini / Maxi / Remastered series or the Deluxe series from earlier on, I'm sure you'll like this one as well. The focus won't be on new items this time, butt on the new overworld and new enemies and also more color sets (I already moved a lot PAL CSets to standard ones to get more variety).

Thanks for considering helping me out here. Also, if you have ideas on new enemies or items (even though the focus is on enemies this time around) or if you see bugs in the dungeons when you do a test run, please contact me on Skype or through private message here in the forum. Once you have expressed your interest in helping out, you will be given the current test build of "LOZ - Lost Levels" to see what I got so far. :)

Shy greetings from Switzerland

I consider myself a very good classic designer. Sure, I can help you out.

Would you by chance be referring to this quest? And I would be happy to help you with your over-world design, by the way!

Thanks a lot to both Dimentio and Logos for your interest in helping me out! :) Anthus is currently working on some screens, so I have to wait until he gets back to me with the file, otherwise we will all do something different and in the end it's not compatible anymore, haha. :) As soon as I hear from Anthus, I will inform Dimentio first since he posted first, and then if the overworld would still not be complete, Logos of course could add further on, is that a good plan? Of course, as I mentioned, all of you will be properly credited as co-creators. :) I did the 2nd dungeon fully now, it's getting along nicely. I will wait with more dungeons until I know which items will be placed in the overworld once it's done.

PS: About the collab, if it's Tales of Lyria then yes, if not, then no. ^^ I only did an attempt with Tales of Lyria, but the tileset just didn't work out for me, so I only did one dungeon. I currently can't download, I'm at another place. :)

Anthus got back to me and he's still working on the overworld. However, we could all simeowtaneously do something and then I can combine the screens you all did to a complete overworld and maybe I could add in a few final ones to make everything be well connected. As I said, Z1 (Nintendo) style is very much preferred (no villages with houses and guy-types spread across the overworld itself), however the water can be more natural (not square-style ponds, they could also look round or stream-edgy etc). I just did an example there with the first pond and the island on it.

To make things easier, I will upload the current QST file to the project database and then those who like to work on the overworld can download it. :)

PS: Just uploaded it as a Demo.

Compositing maps together is actually not a bad way to go. You can re-import the new map into your quest, and copy screens to wherever you want in the main map. This is how I made this map years ago. The only thing is, it is probably a good idea to make sure the collaborators try to start in different parts of the OW, but this isn't that big of a deal if you are moving screens around anyway.

True, so maybe someone can make a nice graveyard area and forest, the other could make a beach and docks area and maybe an iced lake with snow (white CSet 4) area and someone could probably do the death mountain and desert themed areas in the center and north middle part. :) Anyway, since these will all be *.map files, I can just import them one by one and pick the screens out one by one.

I could work on a grave area/forest.

Levels 1 to 3 are now completely finished, working on Level 4 now. Of course I will have to change the side and tile warps once the destination in the overworld is sure.

Unfortunately, due to time issues, Anthus is not capable of helping on this project any further. That means, the "work" (I would call it "fun" because I like creating stuff, haha) can now be split among Dimentio and Logos. :) Whatever you wanna do additionally, please post here, so the other won't work on the same things at the same time. I will list what we have so far:

Graveyard / Forest Zone: Logos

Again, to both of you, thanks a lot for helping me out. :)

Important Bump: Atrus Wonder provided me with a fully fleshed out classic tileset overworld and I have to admit, I love that one. So, I hope you guys haven't started working on it too far yet, because I will most likely use AW's unless you have now also finished your part, then I would see if I could merge something in. If not, I would go ahead and use all AW's overworld.

As long as I am working on the rebalancing of my other six quests, I will keep this thread open.

PS: Atrus Wonder just told me he'll change a few bits here and there to make it look more unique. He'll get back to me by late March this year. :)

There has been a setback, butt I hope as soon as Atrus Wonder is back and healthy, I can get going again. The goal is to complete this quest whenever AW can send me the overworld and then to expand the current Maxi quest by the new dungeon set from LL.
