Pre-2.5 Backward compatible Classic + Koten Package
For Quests with lots of additional tiles, palettes and comboes, please read:
You may have added additional assets to your quest. Because of this, the new tiles here start at [combo/ tile page whatever] giving you some space to re-import your tiles. NOTE: Importing a graphics pack file WILL REPLACE ALL OF YOUR COMBOES AND TILES. Yes, unfortunately, you will have to re-import your custom stuff. The good thing is, Classic additions are usually relatively simple, and only take up a few pages (maybe?). That's the one big drawback to this if you have a huge tileset made up based on an older version of Classic. This might not work for that, unless you want to do a lot of re-arranging yourself. Also, if you have custom/ additional palettes, use caution, and be sure to back up your work. This will replace all palettes with the default palettes in both Koten, and Classic. This will also reset enemy tiles, and item tiles. Please be sure to back up your quest file before converting!
Do you have a pre-2.5 Classic quest lying around that uses the [old tile layout * have shot of old, and new tile layouts]? Have you ever wanted to be able to easily import Koten, or the new Classic over it without doing a ton of re-arranging yourself? Even on a lark? If you answered yes to any of these, then this might be the thing for you.
This takes DragonDePlatino's Koten tileset, and re-arranges the beginning of the combo page to make it able to be imported over the older versions of Classic, in versions of ZC before 2.5. There is also a re-arrangement of Classic made by myself which allows you to import older Classic quests into the newer Classic layout. You will still have access to all of the other new tiles found in Koten, and 2.5+ Classic as well, as they are shifted downward, and still fully comboed, and usable. You will be able to add Koten, and 2.5+ Classic's tiles to your quest respectively, without redrawing any of your old screens **
** Unless they use different floor/ ground csets. Everything in Koten needs to be cset 2 for it to look right on the ground. In dungeons, dark rooms must be drawn so that the floor uses a different tile using the same colors in cset 3, or 4 as it uses in cset 2. This is easily fixable with Tools-> Color cset Fix, on screens where it is an issue. This might be a problem when importing Koten over Classic, since there is only one color difference in Classic's csets 2-4, and the floor always looks the same, but in Koten, the default floor color is different in csets 3, and 4, but the csets include colors of the regular floor tiles seen in cset 2, but they must be placed separately. I hope that made sense lol. I am not great at explaining this stuff.
**** I want to make it clear though, this is meant to make it easy to import Koten, and new Classic over old versions of Classic. If you import this over the new version of Classic, it will break your tileset (it will just look like crap, and you'll have to revert to your last save or backup.) The best way to re-import your tiles is to export the pages first, then re-import them. Palettes will be overwritten by default palettes. ****
Now that ZC is open source, this may be useful. Please feel free to package it with your forks! Just be careful when converting tilesets, since there might always be issues you did not anticipate.
