If anyone would like to give the quest in its current pre-pre-alpha state a shot, here it is. Note that the content of the current quest may vary wildly from the final (the first two dungeons have been remade three times in their entirety now, for example.)
You will also need the work-in-progress soundtrack.
The quest goes through the first two pendant dungeons. After this there's nothing else to do really, but I hope it's a nice preview of things to come.
Some of the new features:
- Updated overworld appearance
- Some new scripted enemies courtesy of Moosh (thanks!)
- Link shouts when he swings his sword or does a spin attack, and grunts when he gets hurt
- Cannonballs
- 2x2 traps that move on a set path
- Compass chimes in rooms containing keys
- Pots play a sound and animate when broken
- Intro strings for dungeons that use actual messages and not DMap intro strings
- Items that respawn infinitely (fairies, mostly) where appropriate
- Enemies that spawn continuously on a timer, by stepping into an area, and possibly up to an NPC limit (Not actually used in the quest yet, but tested as working)
- The Book of Mudora
- Removed Herobrine
Known issues:
- Some overworld cliff tiles are in the wrong CSet (I'll get around to this eventually)
- One room in the first dungeon has a layering issue
- The Lost Woods has been almost entirely untouched from Quest 744 and still tries to use the old music track. It will be getting entirely redone at some point and get its own music.
- A locked door in the second dungeon is missing so you may find yourself with an extra key there.
- Bad choice of location for a warp in the second dungeon.
- Pots in some of the Kakariko villagers' homes shatter on their own
- The description of the Map isn't entirely accurate to what it does at this point in time. Eventually the detailed maps will return; it's a matter of me getting around to drawing them.
