If anyone would like to give the quest in its current pre-pre-alpha state a shot, here it is. Note that the content of the current quest may vary wildly from the final (the first two dungeons have been remade three times in their entirety now, for example.)

You will also need the work-in-progress soundtrack.

The quest goes through the first two pendant dungeons. After this there's nothing else to do really, but I hope it's a nice preview of things to come.

Some of the new features:

- Updated overworld appearance

- Some new scripted enemies courtesy of Moosh (thanks!)

- Link shouts when he swings his sword or does a spin attack, and grunts when he gets hurt

- Cannonballs

- 2x2 traps that move on a set path

- Compass chimes in rooms containing keys

- Pots play a sound and animate when broken

- Intro strings for dungeons that use actual messages and not DMap intro strings

- Items that respawn infinitely (fairies, mostly) where appropriate

- Enemies that spawn continuously on a timer, by stepping into an area, and possibly up to an NPC limit (Not actually used in the quest yet, but tested as working)

- The Book of Mudora

- Removed Herobrine

Known issues:

- Some overworld cliff tiles are in the wrong CSet (I'll get around to this eventually)

- One room in the first dungeon has a layering issue

- The Lost Woods has been almost entirely untouched from Quest 744 and still tries to use the old music track. It will be getting entirely redone at some point and get its own music.

- A locked door in the second dungeon is missing so you may find yourself with an extra key there.

- Bad choice of location for a warp in the second dungeon.

- Pots in some of the Kakariko villagers' homes shatter on their own

- The description of the Map isn't entirely accurate to what it does at this point in time. Eventually the detailed maps will return; it's a matter of me getting around to drawing them.

Lots of good signs to come here.

Unfortunately, this chest open up to reveal nothing, while it should be a key due to the compass chime, and so I couldn't go far in the 2nd pendant dungeon.

I found a wierd layer issue next to this sign post.

Other than that, the build played surprisingly smooth (including 1st pendant dungeon).

The layering issue is a joke. That's Eppy's hiding place. It's the oldest bug from Quest 744 and I left it there on purpose. :)

As far as the key goes, ... I have since fixed it. Whoops. Try redownloading both the quest and the music, because:

- Lost Woods is about 65% complete with a simpler Zora's River area than before. If you go the wrong way in the woods, you'll just end up in a blank green screen, so turn around if that happens.

- New music for Lost Woods

- Bug in pendant 2 fixed. There's a bad warp in there that does cave/item room because I think I set up warp B instead of A, but that's easy to fix and it's not game-breaking.

- Link now shouts when he uses the sword (since Quick Sword is turned on this can be amusing to hit the sword button very quickly) and spin attack, and grunts with pain when hit.

- Inaccessible for the moment, but framework now exists for separate dmaps for Death Mountain and a new Kakariko Village.

There's a new build featuring a completely redone Pendant 2 with new game mechanics, the Autobow, tall grass/shallow water sounds, one bomb and one arrow expansion, and a small portion of Death Canyon. Anything that is not finished is blocked off properly. Please download the music again.
