Anyone interested in designing this item?

 

Light Boots

• Link can now stomp to make a quake attack
• Makes Link dash over a pit when a "Sun" symbol is shown.
• Equipable Item
• Consumes Magic

You trigger the stomp by using the item?

 

How do you dash? By using it while standing on the symbol and facing the pit?

 

Does the dash use up a constant amount of magic, or does it depend on the length of the dash?

When I saw this topic title, my first thought was the light dash shoes from Sonic Adventure. Ive been playing way too much sonic lately... 

Another cool idea would be to have some kind of trail running over the pit that Link would press a button in front of and follow.

@MoscowModder I guess making the Ex2 button uses the dash move, but yes the dash can only be used while Link is on the symbol and facing something. The length of the dash should have a set number of tiles it can pass and is meant to be like Hover Boots. Both the dash and the stomp consumes magic. The dash does not damage enemies.

Um, this looks like it belongs in the "Scripting Discussion" forum, at least if that's what you meant by having "Script" in the thread title.

 

I wouldn't know how to do this, unfortunately.  I just wanted to say that reminds me of the Pegasus Boots, with all the talking of dashing.  Not sure if that's been done before?
