Recently I've finished this quest and enjoyed very well, but there are a couple of things I don't know.

1) In Snowy Expanse I can walk only 6 screens, and can't go further because of big ice blocks. 2-west from entrance of S.Expanse I found the switch, but I can't hit with anything.

2) In Snowy Expanse I also found a cave with a green mechanism, but the message says "you don't have anythimg that fits...."

3) Thanks to Reversion Rondo, I got Ancient Melody at the greenish place in present Ocean, but I don't know what to do for that. Where can I see someone to read the melody?

4) Where is the optional dungeon (supposed to be called Frozen Palace) in side-quest line? After seeing Cybil near L2, I don't find anything new.

Hey RedHouse,

the Snowy Expanse and Frozen Palace are connected to the Dawn-Questline. Here is how you get access to both areas:

5) I found 21 hcps... is that correct?

@Nino :

I have a same problem about the bombbag. I guess we should have bought the bombbag L3 before getting bombbag L4, even though bombbag L4 is easier to find than L3.

Yeah, I was thinking about this too, but it was already too late and now I am stuck with a broken inventory/upgrades. >_< Oh well ...
But the bombs aren't very useful in this quest anyhow, so it's not too much an issue. :D

@Nino

Thank you very much for your really kind and helpful response.

Thanks to you, I could go further, and gave up at Mechanical island because of the moving-block puzzle. I could manage the first one, but the second one like skull-face, I can NEVER turn the block at any position properly. I felt like right and left directon keys lose their function, anyway that's too much frustrating. Sometimes that block pushed Link out of the screen and had to retry many times.

According to the post #930, the optional dungeon has some bugs, so now I lost motivation to continue. Just sad.

You are welcome. :D

The moving-block-puzzle was a bit frustrating for me too, to be honest. It was very difficult to move properly and it would glitch out of the grid and force me to restart multiple times.
But I found when you keep pressing in the same direction the block will move when starting the mechanic, then it becomes more responsive in stays on the tile grid.

I think it's a good idea to hold off until the issues are fixed, because the Frozen Palace contains more of these moving-block-puzzles and has some other bugs I mentioned previously too. :D

A long time has passed since I last played this quest. I found a bug in this screen:

The pits don't work, I can walk freely on them. And I think I screwed something up with the Timeshift Serenade quest:

Nothing happens, but here is the order I did this in. I never met Mr. Right on Gly'cov Village until after Farore's Pyramid, but I did meet Mr. Left on Dhona on the first visit. Once I got the letter from Mr. Right, when I returned to Dhona, Mr. Left had already left, no dialogue or anything happened, his NPC quickly disappears once i enter his house. After researching that I need to go to this screen, nothing happens. There is an invisible block in front of him and I can't interact with him in anyway...

By the way, I also experienced the bugs mentioned in Frozen Palace by another user, I get two remote bombs but nothing changes in the subscreen. :(

Another thing, two owl statues aren't added to the warp list, these being Turtle Rock and the entrance to Snowfall Village.

I've reached that place, but for some reason, i'm not capable of solving this puzzle properly. It's like... the mecanism is broken. It wouldn't align on the tiles like it was supposed to do.

That give that kind and weird results...

@Sans

After many many tries, it may be successful rarely, though I don't know how to.

But the bigger puzzle in the next room seems to be definitely broken.

Alright. I've finally reached second room as i've finally solved the first puzzle (by sheer luck), and i'm now at this impossible skull shaped puzzle because of the misalign...

There are a lot of pages to this thread and I'm not sure if this has been reported before but I wanted to put it out that the jumping cape disappears from inventory upon entering the open field coming from the Training Ground present.

The cave in question goes down has two purple knights and and a portal south of them. Upon enting that portal, the jumping cape disappears from inventory and then makes further game progress impossible.

This portal opens into the big field that on the south side has a switch to lower block barriers and a hidden portal to the left in the grass that leads to 200 rupees and a mini boss that has a HCP.

Is there a fix to this? A workaround?

I have another question but how do I access the sword beam switch that glows in the present on the west side of the world map? The one below the golden chest and that's to the west of Dhoma I think it's spelled.

I've searched all over in past and present and can't seem to gain access for it.

1. Inside the Frozen Palace I got one remote bomb at the entrance, and then a second remote bomb after killing all enemies inside a specific room. Both didn't do anything for me. There is no remote bomb inside my inventory whatsoever. The bombs still behave like normal bombs.

2. After killing the second boss in the Frozen Palace and entering the room with the golden chest, I am presented with a switch that is not affected by anything. Not even the lens of truth is reacting to it. Would like to post a screenshot, but uploads dont work here and when I try to embed an URL it says "You are not allowed to use that image extension on this community.", which is weird. :^)
Apparently I can't finish this quest now, because the switch doesnt react to any item and I cant reach the staircase to explore further.

(3). Regarding bombs, I believe I got all bombbag-upgrades and still hold 55 bombs in total. Though, I have seen other peoples playthrough and they could carry 99. Why is that? I got the upgrade from the shop AND found two bombbags later on (one inside a cave and one on the mountain).

I'm at the same part in Ice Palace. Same bombs too. And yes both remote bombs are not working. I have no way to see the ending of this dungeon without someone explaining how to flip this switch and gain access to the stairs.

Heyo so I figured I'd post here because I think this is quite a big bug. I just started the Mechanical Isle and the automaton thing is cool but they seem to be broken, exactly like what Sans earlier in the thread mentioned. The first puzzle with them worked out fine, but the one in the room right after doesn't seem to work as well as it should. The block seems to move into half tiles horizontally rather than full tiles and so this just breaks the puzzle completely. I'm not sure if it's even possible to do because of that lol

I'm playing this on 2.55.10 so maybe it's some script stuff that broke along the way, but figured I'd relay this for others who are playing on a newer version. For the record, the ones in the Frozen Palace are mostly broken too, I think this script in general should be reworked imo

Edit: Having finished the Frozen Palace though, I likewise made it to the end and encountered a weird switch that does nothing. I actually peeked into the quest file itself to see what this was about (sorry curiosity got the better of me) to find that this actually goes nowhere. Ngl I'm a little disappointed the minidungeon just ends unfinished other than the better charge ring. But for anyone else that'll come across this, that switch does nothing and it seems the whole Dawn questline ends there.

I finished the game and just got the password but I do not get any dialogue boxes when I attempt to talk to the mermaid character in Gly'cov.

Never mind, it turns out you have to stand in front of the character but must distance yourself in space between you and the character.

I did notice something. In some of the 2D sections of the shrines and the dungeon where you get the hammer. If you fall into any of the lava pits, you will be taken to either a broken screen where you can't move or to another 2D section that you are not intended to be in to where you can escape through a latter and end up in a room to where you are not yet supposed to be in. This can potentially break dungeons and allow you to get stuck for using a key in the wrong door.

Played through this on stream recently, was an absolute blast playing it again and still is one of my favorite quests!

The new side quest leading to the Frozen Palace of the Dawn was also very good and I loved the aesthetic and vibes of the dungeon! Shame that it was unfinished (as after the Patra boss there's just a switch you can't activate with a staircase you can't reach, although there is an enchanted chest), but I appreciate it's inclusion nonetheless.

A few words of advice for people who decide to pick up this quest:

1) In Turtle Rock, Aurelia mentions you can use your sword against the boss, but it does not work; instead you need to hit it with the magic rod you get progressing to Level 5. Don't be silly like me and assume you just need a stronger sword - Level 5 and 6 will be much, MUCH more painful to get through without the reward.
2) To find the Staff of Nayru, you will need to use the Lens of Truth to find a hidden passage in a cave in the present. This will lead to a switch you need a sword beam for.
3) Pits in sideview areas seem to be a bit bugged and can cause you to warp to screens you aren't supposed to - recommended you just save & quit then reload instead of doing anything on the screen you ended up on.

All in all, I do hope the creator one day finds the motivation to finish (or make from scratch) Dawn of Time - I would absolutely love to play another masterpiece as well designed as this game!
