For my first ever review, I've decided to choose Quest for Freedom I, created by Freedom!
Quest for Freedom I by Freedom

Link's home, and the starting point of the quest.
Let's begin with the Gameplay of this quest!
This is a simple get the 8 pieces of the Triforce, defeat Ganon, Not the most original goal, but it works! Each dungeon in this quest has a certain gimmick to it, although this was a time before scripts, each dungeon sets itself a part with a new gimmick. Without spoiling it, there is a water dungeon, enemy rush, bomb maze, and some others.
This is a first quest, and from I can see, the author has gotten everything right. The overworld is a bit plain, but it's not somewhere too complex so that you get lost. It's pretty straight forward, I had no problems finding dungeons or anything of the sort.
Although, this is just a personal preference of mine, there were a mixture of heart containers and pieces on the overworld. I believe there were only four heart pieces, but they were about as easy to find as the containers, so there was little difference. I think if you're going to have a mixture like that, make the actual heart containers harder to find.
The dungeons, as I said, were nicely laid out, but there were a few "dick moves" as it were. Some bombable walls existed, and Level 6 and 7 are a mess, with their constant warping and invisible walls. It's also very easy to miss a secret item in Level 2, make sure you bomb everywhere!

One of the aforementioned Dick Moves, this guy always teleports you back to your house... inconspicuously...
The gameplay is rather average, but for a first quest, quite a bit of effort was put in. For Gameplay, I give the quest a
6.5/10
Story
As said before, this is a typical "Save Zelda by collecting 8 Triforces and killing Ganon plot." Nothing too complex.
Something i will say, though, the NPCs are few and far between in terms of quality. They can sometimes have interesting advice, or even a small joke or something, here a few of the NPCs and my comments on them.

Who doesn't like a hippie moblin?

Might want to think twice about buying these items, you can find them elsewhere!

Quite fair potion prices, I might add. But what in the mushroom causes them to be red?
I won't grade the story, but the NPC's, I'd give them a 6/10, for not being TOO special, and the grammar/spelling is a bit off.
Design Attention
As said before, each dungeon has it's own little gimmick to it, so each one feels diverse and unique. They're all "Z1" shaped, but personally, I'm fine with that, some people might not be, but I see this as a sort of Z1 expansion, so it's very acceptable.
Also, there are a few screen bugs I found while I was collecting screenshots for this review.

Also, a few weird graphical decisions.(could be a compatibility bug, but some of these are quite funny xD)

CAN you hanDLE my sword beams?

The 5 Rupee is Link swimming, and a gleeok head, eventually. Is this some Ben drowned reference I'm missing?
As for the graphics/design, I give it a 6.5/10
Music
Music is always an important part of a quest, I give it points for originality, there's some songs in there I didn't even recognize. The overworld theme is a bit too slow paced in my opinion, but each dungeon has a good theme, and none of the songs were annoying.
No custom sound effects were used, but the originals fit the quest pretty well.
I give the music an 8/10.
Closing Thoughts
Although this is a very rough quest, I rather enjoyed my time with it. The dungeons were thought out, and varied enough to make them interesting. The plot was simple, which in my book, is never a bad thing. The design could have a bit better, avoiding screen bugs or weird sprite decisions (not sure if that was a compatibility bug or not) and the music choice was excellent.
Would I recommend this quest for a play?
( A section i decided to add to these reviews to make them a bit more interesting)
Yes, I would recommend it for anyone to see how a classic quest should be, in essence. Some of the decisions were a bit odd, but for a first quest, it's quite impressive. I probably won't replay it anytime soon, but it's certainly fun, and not too hard or anything.

So, for my first review, Quest of Freedom I gets a.... ((6.5 + 6.5 + 8)/3)
7 Goriyas out of 10!
