Souls of Wisdom: Rise of the Undead Deity

This story is a brief piece of fanfiction that is

written to tell the events that took place

before the events of Souls of Wisdom &

Souls of Wisdom 2: Darkness Within. It is

entirely fiction and it is loosly based on

Hyrule Hysteria's concept of the Zelda

Time Line. I hope you enjoy reading.

Defeat of the Evil King

With one final blow, the Hero of Time took out the Mighty King of Evil and saved Hyrule once and for all. Instantly, the sages did their part to seal the Evil King into the Evil Realm where Ganon would vow for revenge.

Ganon struck the world by a storm, as if coming from nowhere, he would invade the entire world right under the noses of the Kingdom of Hyrule and their finest knights. But not even the Evil King anticipated a young boy from the forest to hold the Triforce of Courage.

From this day, history would go on telling stories about these three people who seem to have been chosen by the Gods. About how Ganon's perfect plan lay to ruin over the ironic twist of what not even he knew about the Triforce, that it would split in front of his eyes, and only come to lead to his very defeat.

The Souls of Courage was with Link that very night. Ganon is sealed, but the events of this night would never be forgotten by all who has witnessed this historical event. The Deities of Chaos were not impressed, for they certainly had big plans for Ganon.

Hyrule at Peace

The Triforce is a mysterious artifact that not one man in Hyrule understands, and certainly that became evident when the Triforce split for the first time. If Ganon were not pure in heart, why would not three whole pieces escape from Ganon's grasp? Clearly if the law of the Triforce reflected the teachings in the literature the sages passed down from century to century since the day man lived in the sky, certainly all would know that the Triforce would never have allowed an evil heart to touch it.

What was even more terrifying, now in the minds of Hyrule's heaviest thinkers is that not only can an evil man touch the Triforce, through his will, and entire holy realm can be turned into a world of emptiness and sorrow. For the rest of time, books will be written about this world of Destruction, Sorrow, and Despair. But yet Hyrule has reached an era of prosperity and peace. Celebrations would attracted people from near and far about the Hero who came from nowhere to save their world.

The Deities of Chaos

Everybody were celebrating, except for The Deities of Chaos. Currently residing in the gap between dimensions they made their home which has remained undetected, and will remain undetected by most scholars for all time. Within this Realm of Chaos dwelled these spirits who desire the complete destruction of all existence, given birth by a curse made by the Demon King of years ago. These manifestations are the result of that curse and guide the world to meet the desires of that Demon King, as if they were invisible puppet masters.

Though the Deities of Chaos live here now, they did not once a time before. They originally held no real power or hold on the world for many years to come since. Born from a curse, these spirits originally existed trapped inside the Master Sword to suffer endless torment driven by the desire of destruction that for centuries and centuries are being denied to them because of the limitations of that curse. They were trapped within the Master Sword, just like the life force of the Demon King who created the curse in the first place. Though the Demon King himself appears to have lost all signs of existence, the results of his curse still remain at large.

The Great Timeline Split

Many of Hyrule's wisest men will tell you about the Great Timeline split, they say it occurred when Link defeated Ganondorf and returned the Master Sword into the pedestal. They will go on about a world where the hero never even came to save Hyrule, and it is in this world the sages was appointed the task to destroying the Evil King themselves.

I'll be the first to tell you that this world exists, but the Great Timeline Split and the nature of it is still poorly misunderstood by the facts that people believe which remain untrue. You see, when Link, the Hero of Time pulled the Master Sword for the first time, he released the Deities of Chaos from their prison, and instantly a tear in time has opened.

What is also believed about Ganon touching the Triforce, and the Triforce splitting? That is also a well believed tale that itself is not quite entirely true. The Triforce is designed to have killed Ganon if the story actually happened in which it was told. But Ganon was actually a piece of an elaborate puzzle, but he also a living result of a curse that's been created centuries ago, the final piece to the puzzle, the final Deity of Chaos. Ganon served as the living vessel who would carry out the will of the Curse, which has now became an order.

It was vital to the plan to have Link enter the Sacred Realm first, it was vital to the plan that Ganondorf not meet his end to the Triforce. The artifact would have destroyed his impure heart. But before Ganondorf was able to accomplish his part of the plan, the Deities of Chaos had to manipulate outside events so subtly that nobody would ever know.

Once the Deities were free, they would corrupt the Triforce. The original plan of course was to corrupt the entire Triforce, and thus govern complete strength to it's new owner. The Demon King would have certainly had his final laugh.

But as foolproof as this treatury is, the Gods had already anticipated this action with a powerful defense that not a single being or deity would have ever imagined. The Triforce itself was alive, and inside each peace rested Spirits which we know today to be called the Souls of Courage, Wisdom, and Power.

As soon as the Deities of Chaos hit the Triforce, the Triforce split in two, and instantly, behind blind eyes, three completely different realities were also formed. Ensuring that if The Demon King's plan were to succeed here today, there would be two entirely separate realities in which they would never have full dominance over, and thus the Demon King's dream for ultimate destruction would never become.

The Souls of Power

With the corruption of the Triforce of Power, the Deities of Chaos were no more. Accomplishing the task that was given to them, they completely corrupted the Souls of Power that lived within, and would be known as an even greater threat. The Souls of Power who would now choose Ganon as the man who would carry out their final wish.

Still shaken by the failure to corrupt the Souls of Courage and Wisdom as well, they had no idea of the perfect betrayal the Gods have already created, the two alternate realities that they simply would never grasp even if they were to succeed.

But of course, as we know the story goes, things even get worse for the Souls of Power when The Evil King loses to the hero, the second betrayal to their perfect plan. The Souls of Power did not anticipate defeat, the Souls of Power did not anticipate Ganon's failure. When the sages finally sealed Ganon into The Evil Realm, the Souls of Power abandoned Ganondorf and made their home within The Realm of Chaos, where unlike the their previous home trapped within the Master Sword, they rule the domain that serves as the link between both worlds.

In this Realm of Chaos, they would have complete control to manipulate the world the many dimensions that the universe has to offer.

Filled with so much hate towards the Hero of Time, they become obsessed with destroying the Hero, this obsession became a maddening desire. But the Gods would have their laugh again, as the Hero no longer existed within this world. The Souls of Power had lost even their reason for revenge by completely removing their enemy from time and space.

It was then they discovered that the Hero was not of this world, or this timeline. It was than they discovered what the Gods have done to them. Demise's curse was nothing more than a mortifying joke, though they successfully corrupted the Triforce of Power, it was like the Gods did not care.

The Souls of Power became furious, they made a pledge that they would do everything in their power to destroy all the Gods that govern the world, and than finally the three Goddesses who govern all existence. The Gods gave them new life to be the deities of a timeline that they simply do not care about, a timeline that they would eventually flood and destroy in the future anyways.

The Souls of Power knew this because within their own timeline, they had dominance of that timeline. Even worse is that the Gods do not intend to keep Ganon's seal because they plan to flood the entire thing, they simply just don't care about this world that The Souls of Power want to destroy. Where is the satisfaction of destroying a world that simply only exists to destroy? This drove the Souls of Power to complete insanity.

The Three Great Timelines of the Gods

Hyrule, a world where the Hero of Time defeated The Evil King, a world in which it's people celebrate, a world that was given to the Souls of Power. The world that the Gods just did not care about. Without the protection of the Gods, the Sages had no possible way of holding the seal that protected Ganon. Eventually the world will realize the true nature of how much their Gods have abandoned them and their home.

Hyrule, a world where a youth named Link, born with the blood of a Hero have been denied his true calling, a world where the Gods have abandoned him so that The Souls of Courage would govern and serve a greater purpose instead. Though depressing as this would seem, this child would go on to speak to Zelda who has no memory of him or Ganon. Though the boy and the princess instantly become friends, the boy always seemed to have this dwelling sensation to find his true self, his true calling. With no memories of his history, he feels that he should go to the forest. Not much was known about the boy after that, and Hyrule would soon become terrorized by a man who goes by the name of Ganondorf, but Hyrule was more prepared. Protected with the watchful eye of the Souls of Courage that now follow a greater purpose, Ganondorf was arrested, and an execution was in order. Ganondorf was no more, but the sages were oddly secretive about what happened that day, and perhaps Hyrule would one day pay the price for such secrecy.

Hyrule, a world where Ganondorf rules. A land filled with people who must live with the fear of the tragedy that has happened, in a world where The Hero of Time has met his end. Zelda was horrified, and she never was the same again. Not even the Souls of Wisdom was able to protect her, or even themselves as Ganon went on to claim the entire Triforce. But Ganondorf was not happy, despite his success, he felt like something was missing. The very essence, the sensations, everything he felt right at the core that was leading him here seems to have long since abandoned him, long ago. It was as if as soon as he achieved the Triforce of Power, there was just no purpose into anything he was doing. This all troubled him further as he was transforming into something else. Every day he looked in the mirror, he knew what he stared at in the mirror had some purpose to fill, but nothing was guiding him further. The Sages, through years of hiding and planning noticed this change in the Evil King, and capitalized on Ganon's sense of confusion. Despite defeating the Hero of Time and taking over the world, it seemed to bring the concequence of purposelessness into his dark heart. Was this sense caused by the manipulation of the Souls of Wisdom? Or perhaps the absence of the Souls of Power. Maybe it was both, but Hyrule would go on to claim victory, and Ganon would become sealed within the Evil Realm with the Triforce he had no longer cared about. The sages worried about the fate of the Souls of Wisdom, but their prayers were eventually answered as the Souls revealed they would continue protecting Hyrule even if the Triforce remained imprisoned with Ganon inside the Evil Realm. A hero's funeral was eventually called in order, while Hyrule decided to start anew.

Manipulation of Time

Hyrule, a world where the Hero of Time defeated The Evil King, a world in which it's people celebrate, a world that was given to the Souls of Power. The world that the Gods just did not care about. The Souls of Power knew Ganondorf would one day return, and started a plan to fuel his motivation for destruction even in their absence, for the Souls of Power don't plan to stick around, neither do they care about Ganondorf's fate in this world. It simply matters them not if he succeeds or fails in this world that is already been doomed by the Gods. Despite that though, their desire for destruction do motivate them enough to give Ganondorf a purpose in this world. Besides, he does need Ganondorf to push the Gods into creating the Great Flood, because with their new plan, the flood is essential.

The Souls of Power quickly got to work, they were confident, and the Gods certainly have underestimated their need to destroy all. They were completely surprised that the Gods would think they would be satisfied with this plan, satisfied with this design. No, the Deities of Chaos desires total destruction, the Deities of Chaos desires one thing, the end of all things.

With their hatred now directed at the Gods, reflecting the very same hate of the Demon King. The Souls of Power has actually started to taking a liking to this child that the Gods have chosen as their hero, and they have certainly taking a liking for the child that the Gods have abandoned. The potential in this hero, if given the same purpose in which was originally served by Ganon, they knew they would make the perfect creature of destruction. They had their eyes set on the hero in the alternate timeline, the hero that the Gods have abandoned, the one desperately seeking to find his true calling. The Souls thought to themselves how brilliant it would be to make the God's chosen hero end up being the bringer of ruin?

The Souls of Power were cunning, they knew how important it was to remain undetected while interfering with time dimensions that they do not belong in. It was vital to their plan to remain completely undetected by both the Souls of Power and the Souls of Wisdom in the domains that the Gods have chosen for them. It was more important for them to bring Link to them.

To do this, they needed to create a separate world within the Realm of Chaos, one in which they could lure Link into from the timeline that was given to the Souls of Courage to a world that exists within the Realm of Chaos. A world that had to resemble everything that he would remember, a world where they could transform him.

It is than the Souls of Power had a brilliant idea, though they could not change the future or the past, he could create an alter ego who could do this job for him. But again, this was not easily done without The Souls of Courage detecting this change. So the Souls of Power had to make a sacrifice. For this plan to work, they would have to imprison themselves again within a mask, a mask that this tribe would protect and fear. This mask in itself would be sent back in time long before the timeline shift along with this tribe, during an age where it would go unnoticed under the watchful eye of the Gods and the three goddesses. Though he could not directly manipulate the past or future from his time, he could go back, posing as nothing more than a mask of nobody's interest or concern, being watched by a tribe who equally is to nobody's concern.

The Souls of Power would than remain locked away in this mask, caught somewhere back in time, to one day be found, predictably as planned, by the Happy Mask Salesman in the world where The Souls of Courage keep their watchful eye over the world in the name of peace. The Souls of Power however lie dormant, undetected inside a Mask that will forever be known as Majora's Mask. It will be Majora who will take out the final act, it will be Majora who will turn this small child into The Fierce Deity. All that is required is luring the small child into the world of Termina which lies at the center of The Realm of Chaos.

The Fierce Deity is born

Wait wait wait, I got confused man! So, the Souls of Power were once "good", but they got corrupted from the deities of chaos born from the Demon King's (Demise) curse? Now, their target was Ganondorf, since he could destroy all of Hyrule. Ok, but then the Hero of Time appears, and (based on Hyrule Historia) depending on his actions, these create 3 separate realities known as the Great Timeline Shift? I mean, if Link succeeds in killing the Pig Guy , that's one, another is if Ganondorf kills Link, two, and the last one is if Link never entered the Sacred Realm, three.

So, the souls hated the Gods for the same reason that they were good and prevented or defeated all evil, etc, etc. SO, they made a perfect plan to destroy all reality, avoiding being caught by the Souls of Courage and/or wisdom and the gods, by laying asleep inside a mask sent back through time to be discovered by someone and also, sent into the reality where Link is successful and goes to Termina, thus ending involved in this place, and at the end, he wears the Fierce Deity Mask...

SO (again :badrazz: ), this is what I understood. Now tell me please, how far am I wrong?

Well, there's more to the story, considering Souls of Wisdom takes place in the Wisdom Timeline (the timeline where Link does get defeated), I will explain what follows after that and what leads up to Souls of Wisdom.

But from first glance that seems very accurate and to me it seems like you understand fully. But I'll read your message more clearly later to see if you fully got it.

Update - Here are some of the things you may have missed:

- In my theory, the great timeline split happened as soon as the Deities of Chaos were released. That is when Link first touched the Master Sword and awakened the sleeping curse, which also put Link to sleep.
- The plan of the Deities of Chaos was ideally to corrupt the entire Triforce and use Ganon to end all things, but of course they could only corrupt the Triforce of Power, the other two Triforces actually split before Ganon touched the Triforce.
- the Gods, under the order of the Goddesses orders created three separate realities so that even if The Deities of Chaos (Now known as The Souls of Power) used Ganon to destroy the world, two separate realities would still exist.
- The Souls of Power rule one reality (or timeline) while the Souls of Wisdom rules the 2nd, and the Souls of Courage rules the 3rd despite the fact that all three realities include the complete Triforce.

So basically, long story short:

Demise gets his ass kicked, curses the ones who beat him down, gets sealed away (along with his curse) into the Master Sword.  Fast-Forward a few hundred/thousand/whatever years, Link gathers the 3 stones, grabs the Master Sword, unleashing the Deities of Chaos (the curse parasites, basically), timeline splits with 3 different outcomes:

Link dies, Link Wins, Link doesn't do a damn thing.  Link Dies is ruled by Wisdom, Link Wins is ruled by Power (or vice-verse for those two), Link doesn't do a damn thing is ruled by Courage.

Power wants to use Link of the Courage line, leads him into Termina (aka Realm of Chaos) by going back in time and turning itself into the main objective of one of the best Zelda games out there, and then gives him the power to 'defeat' Majora.  Which in turn, leads to the birth of the Fierce Diety, just as Power planned.  Phase 1: Complete.

...am I right so far?
