The Legend of Zelda: Path of Courage
A PureZC Staff Group Quest

In 2011, the PureZC Staff started up a group quest with the intention of having a fun staff activity to do. If it produced a nice quest for people to play, that was definitely a plus. Under the direction of Fox, we're happy to announce that we have a finished quest: The Legend of Zelda: Path of Courage.

Path of Courage features 19 unique areas to explore, thought provoking map design, mind breaking puzzles, unique challenges, and different spins on classic items. It's a quest that we put work into and we hope that people enjoy our combined takes on quest creation.

We haven't submitted the quest to the database yet since it would make more sense to submit it with the new site where multiple authors can be properly credited. But you can still download it and try it out now. icon_smile.gif

Download the quest here. (ZC 2.50)

If you need any help, feel free to post and ask. icon_smile.gif

I'm stuck in Level 1 in the room with the block puzzle with the armos. That's really clever, guys. You've stumped me. I never would have thought of all people PureZC's own staff would find the time to finish a quest.

Edit: D'oh! And then the second I make that post I remember the crystal switch! I was thinking you were taking that it a completely different direction, but this works too.

Edit 2: Almost done with Level 1. It's pretty short, but if this quest truly has 19 areas I'm in for a long trek.

I must say, this is a fantastic piece of work and I wish I had participated in it, but that's fine, because playing it without knowing what I'd be getting into was a pleasant surprise. In fact, I decided to Let's Play this completely blind, recording it from start to finish so I can relive my original experience with this quest forever, and so I could share it with the rest of you:

I applaud my fellow staff members for putting together this masterpiece. icon_clap.gif

EDIT 9/5/2013: Apparently YouTube copyright claimed my vid for a song that wasn't even in the video. Re-uploaded. Let's hope the bot stays away this time.

I can't believe a group quest of this magnitude was actually completed (don't know how large it is, but 19 areas sounds fairly large)! And without anyone knowing about it! Well, it looks like I have no choice but to play another quest. Screenshots look nice; downloading right now.

GEEZE! The number of traps in Level 2 is RIDICULOUS. How do you expect me to get through this level with only 4 hearts and what looks like only 3 pieces of heart available in the overworld?

Aside from that, this quest is pretty awesome so far.

So where do I go in Level 6? I have two keys and beat the miniboss but I can't find the doors to use them on. Great quest so far, but the wizzrobes in this dungeon are wrecking me!

Does everyone else have everything upside down, the clickable smiles the reply buttons etc?

Anyway thanks all for this new quest! I have just downloaded and am looking forward to hours of fun play!

Did you collect the Dark Lamp yet? If not, you need to find it; it's needed to access the rest of the dungeon!

Oh for crying out loud guys, what we're you thinking with the seventh boss? I can get past his first stage, but then he starts flooding the screen with fire and I don't know what to do. I tried hiding in the water, but it's still electrocuted from his last attack. What am I missing?

There's a certain environmental effect that you can trigger with the boomerang that makes his fire attacks a joke. For the electricity I think you just need to wait it out.

Stuck in Level 8. I got the Rainbow Rod (great item idea) but I can't figure out how to use it. So far this is easily a 5/5.

Oh... dang, how did I miss that? icon_doh.gif Boss is beaten now, level cleared. I'm assuming I have to head to the Starlight Vista now. Thanks Moosh!

No problem!

So turns out those dotted paths found throughout the dungeon covering pits were light bridges activated by the Rainbow Rod. I feel pretty dumb now. Anyways, moving onwards. I have a feeling this dungeon's boss is going to be amazing! icon_biggrin.gif

Come to think of it, one minor complaint I have is that Level 8's gimmick so far is very similar to Level 6's. I suppose it puts an interesting enough spin on it to make it original, though...
