Title should read ""Enemies appear too high"
Now it does ~Joe123

When my non-moving enemies spawn on an unwalkable combo, the enemy tiles are not lining up with the grid.
The enemies show up two pixels higher than they ought to... icon_confused.gif

Okay then...

I made an enemy that doesn't move.
He has only one frame of animation.

I made this frame as a custom tile.
The tile is 16x16 pixels, like the regular tiles.

The screen is divided by a grid into squares consisting of 16x16 tiles.

When my non-moving enemy spawns, he overlaps the grid, meaning the
top two rows of the enemy's pixels are too high.

I do believe that, enemies spawn at random.

You can use a Combo Flag 37 to choose where an enemy will appear.
That's not the problem. The problem is...

The left image shows how the enemy SHOULD appear on the grid.
The right image shows how the enemy appears two pixels too high.

Nothing is perfect. If ZC was all that, then the screens would be perfect 16x16 tiles. Its not.

huh? what do you mean? every tile lines up in the grid, why should the enemies be any different?

If you are right, that there is nothing I can do to fix it, I'd like someone else to verify it

Is it in a dungeon? If so, do you have the Rule "Fix Link's Position in Dungeons" checked? I'm not sure if it applies to enemies but I'm fairly sure Link is 2 pixels too high.

it's in the overworld

I'll see if I can get that to apply to overworld enemies

I understood what you meant from the first post. icon_smile.gif Don't let someone make you look stupid, I'm sure you aren't, this is a very normal question, actually, it's very good you found it and that should be said.
I'm afraid this is one of the most stupid aspects of ZC. Yet the developers don't want to fix such. Just like they don't want to fix items getting placed 2 pixels lower then the location I pointed out for them.

Oh, well if that's the case I can live with it.

It just strikes me as bizarre that the default position overlaps the grid

You could just adjust the tile to be 2 pixels shorter. If it's in a room with a bunch of correct non-enemy ones, it may look a little off. But you could just make a custom incorrect non-enemy custom tile that's also 2 pixels shorter as well. Then the enemy one would just blend in. Maybe just leave it different and see if it looks incredibly noticable (not to you, of course). There are many ways to get a nail in wood.
