Level 3. Just missing master key. How do I open the chest? It seems non-responsive.

The locked chest opens with the big key. If you haven't found the big key yet then you might be missing some rooms. Check your map.

Thanks, but the reason I asked the question is that per the map, all the rooms I haven't accessed require the master key itself.

 

Exception is the central room with the red chest, which I don't know how to access the center area.

The chest in the north-west area of the dungeon behind lockblocks contains the big key, if you can't reach it then it means that you haven't found all the small keys yet. Try killing all the enemies in rooms you haven't.

Well it's kind of hard to portray snow without using white.

Plus, the entire dungeon gimmick is low vision environment, so the point is that it's hard to see!

I've cleared past level 9 and the lunatic tower. The quest has been surprisingly fun and clever so far! Also:

I'm stuck at 17 spiritual shards. Is the 18th going to be somewhere on the overworld or in tropara?

Is it possible to access that screen in east-south-central tropara that is blocked off by mountains on all sides?

I have 19.5 hearts and missed the hcp in the garden phase of level 8. Is there any way to get back to that phase? I also missed the hcp in level 6, but that doesn't matter if the one in level 8 is unreachable.

There are a total of 20 shards in the game so you don't need to find them all per say. That being said, I can't really know which ones you have or haven't picked up, can I?

Yes that screen is access-able, I made it slightly more obvious in the 1.1 update so you should update if you haven't..., in fact, there are bug fixes too.

There is one piece of heart in every dungeon from level 1 through 9. Assuming you already found the heart piece in the main part of level 8 (Illusion or Confusion depending on your difficulty level) then you haven't missed anything.

Is there new stuff to find in the new game plus? Are there any more bonus dungeons are there to find besides lunatic tower and cube enigma?

Short answer: not really, no. Long answer: You can keep collecting heart containers if you want up to a maximum of 100 hearts, but it's really pointless.
