I'm almost finished, but I'm stuck in Level 9 where a poster much earlier in this thread was at the time.  I have the Boss Key (no red ring) and have visited all the rooms except the very bottom right corner room and one towards the top left that you need a key to get to (that presumably leads to either the boss, the bottom right corner room or both).  The problem is that I cannot find the last remaining key to unlock this door.  There's one room where you can push a block at the bottom of the room left a few spaces (and only left), but that doesn't seem to do anything.  Beyond that, I haven't been able to make any sense of the room that's a representation of the entire level (except the obvious that the spots where the notes appear are the rooms where you need to play the whistle).  However, I don't think you can even get to this room without already knowing that, so I feel there could be something here that I'm missing.  Finally, I haven't figured out the "X marks the spot" clue, either.

 

Your help would be appreciated...I'm almost there!

I am at the very same place in the game. I am almost ready to go to a backup at the beginning of Level 9 and not use the key that got me the map. And then open that door, and see if it leads to the red ring. I really do not understand the room that shows a picture of the room that you need to play music in. You cannot get to that room unless you have already solved that riddle. Also I saw a picture of a screen post 59 that shows the player having the red ring, but not the map. Another poster said the red ring could be found before the silver arrows and power gloves.

Clues seem to point to "X marks the spot" and dive. The only water in Level 9 is the room with the purple darknut, dove and played whistle everywhere there, nothing happened. Also tried diving in the pool around the fake level 9. In another clue in this thread the word entrance was used. (no help) This is getting real frustrating......

Yup, I'm right there with you.  Unfortunately, I don't have a backup to resort to or I probably would have tried that by now, but I suspect there has to be some way to find the last key (and Red Ring) that we're missing.

I did that, went through the door, beat one of those bee things with the babies circling around and went up and there was Ganon. Ganon takes away 3 or 4 hearts with every ball he hits you with, it will be a very tough fight without the red ring or even with the red ring. Those rooms did not get me to the lower right room, which has to house the red ring.... So right now, I can beat the game, if I am good enough on the controller without the red ring.


But,I want the red ring!!!! I also want the 1/2 magic. I want to find everything.... Also need a magic container, I only have 7.

BTW, you can get the boss key, and from there bomb left and get into the next room without using a key!!! Right now I am missing 2 keys, but can still get to Ganon!!! Lots of those spikey things in the room with Ganon.


I am wondering if you have to arrange blocks in the shape of an X or something like that. Blew the flute in every spot of the 4 rooms the big red X is to no avail.

If you burn the warp spot in the room that the 200 rupees are in in level 9 it goes black and locks you in the room. Is this something I need to figure out, or is it a minor glitch?

I cannot bomb or walkthrough any walls that leads to rooms not on the map, not sure about the room with the boss key. Bombs don't open any holes, I die before I can adequately test walking through the top or bottom. I cannot find a way to turn off the spikes. I have been trying every combination of ways to move the blocks in the room just to the left of the boss key room. No luck with that either. Keep suspecting the missing key is in the room that shows you the rooms to blow the flute in, but cannot trigger anything to make it appear. I must be the stupidest player that ever played this game, just not seeing it.... Must I have made it to the room the boss key in is in in order to find the key I am missing? Must I have the boss key in my possession in order to find the key I am missing?

What does the guy in LEVEL-9 say? What does he exactly say to do?
