Hi!
I wanted to ask if there was any progress on the sixth quest entries and public testing. I'm trapped inside due to the pandemic and can think of nothing I'd rather do than play through some Zelda Classic (already done the first five quests).
Thanks and stay well everyone.

The COVID situation is affecting us all; so, things may be a bit slow. The contest judging period should be starting at some point soon-ish; though that's ultimately up to when Zoria has everything set up for that, including *precise* criteria for judging, finalized quest versions to be judged, etc.

I noticed a ".clown" file inside the 7th Quest download. I don't know if it's necessarily ransomware, but I searched up ".clown file extension" and all I got were results about "Badut clown ransomware/malware." I was a bit suspicious so I deleted it from my computer. I'm just going to leave this here for the record: Download at your own discretion, just in case. If I'm wrong, then someone please explain to me what's going on. I would greatly appreciate it.

Its a ZScript file Moosh named to have the ".clown" extension in his entry. It should be totally harmless.

It's safe. It was just a gag filename extension used for this. Some firewalls flag ZC stuff cause it's kind of an older program, but I can assure you, your PC won't explode.

Yeah it's just a ZScript file. You can open it up in a text program and it's just plaintext containing the scripts used for the quest. ZScript has no enforced file extension aside from that the file has to be text. There's a long history of .z being the commonly used ZScript file extension, but the current devs frequently insist people use .zs instead whenever the topic comes up, because of a conflict with a UNIX compression filetype. I just decided to do my own thing.
File extensions don't actually do anything other than tell how data should be interpreted. So it seems the developers of said ransomware had a similar idea to draw users attention that their files had been encrypted. You see an unusual file extension and it's natural to question what's up. In this case what's up is a dumb joke, the file's full name being MooshIsA.clown.

So, er, who eventually ended up winning? And how can I find their quest in 2.55 alpha 92?

As of yet, no winner has been declared. The voting's closed, but Zoria's had some health problems that have kept him from tallying the results.
