I finally got through this quest. I finally also did some tweaking to the fullscreen mode (almost same thing as windowed) so I could see the ending. I beat the last guy (as not to spoil anything) probably 4 or 5 times before I got mad and messed with the windowed mode (the screen size is tiny) and beat it that way.

ZERO gamed it! Woohoo! Of course it took me about 24hrs clock time. But done none the less.

Thanks to everyone that helped me out with my stupid questions!

Im in love with this quest, makes library studying with the laptop bearable. Wish i'd discovered ZC a few years ago, haha. And I love the golden sun music in this quest, best from any console game, i've always thought. icon_biggrin.gif 4 thumbs up shoelace!

But yeah-- i've just beaten level three, and was heading west, and missed what those skeletons were yammering about, something with the hookshot. I missed it due to random distractions. -.- Was I supposed to head up to Windy Peak? Or keep looking around autumn town? I see a keyhole but im hesitant to use my key for the "canyon" in it. :\ any help?

Edit: Nevermind, I blew my key, and, to my suprise, found Domroe in autumn town and he hooked me up with another key. icon_razz.gif about to head to the canyon, although the "rafting" minigame vexes me, I just bank off the rocks with no control and into that waterfall.. do I need to come back later with flippers or some other tool?

Don't go where the water washes you back. Go northeast in Havasu Canyon, there is a cave with your hookshot in it. The rafting game is really cruel...

Mean as in really confusing? I swear i've spent 300 rupees on that thing now.. and every time I just get banked off those rocks. If there's a way to turn I haven't found it. icon_frown.gif So I gave up and am now thuroughly perplexed by the desert, where direction isn't always relative -.- did I miss an NPC who gave a path, like the mayor in the forest?

Hint about the raft game: It can be looked at with the overworld map. And to turn, just hold down the button of the directio you want to turn.

No NPC who helps you there, you need to figure it out yourself. When you get side-warped back to the beginning, just choose a new direction. And don't forget to use the hookshot on one of the northern screens instead of just trying to walk over! Grapple on the hookshot plants (those strange bushes).

New question though. If you got the fire book from the statue on palm island before you did level 5.. will the wand still work on switches? icon_blink.gif i've tried it on a couple so far and it's not working, have I totally owned myself?
and switches, I mean the blue torches. im going around trying them all and.. nothing..

The wand will still work on the switches. Basically the only blue torches you want to be concerned with is the one by the spirit of knowledge and the path to the blaclet. Basically on the top of the middle part of the fire floor. That's it. Hope that helps.

That is a bug with the program itself, not for The Hero of Dreams. There are newer versions of 2.10 that fixed this problem. Search for them on the ZeldaClassic Forums.
