No, it isn't ... With the exception of one level (due to technical limitations), you should always start from the valley when saving and the level when continuing. Thanks for bringing that to my attention.

Why don't you allow the player start from the dungeons? That's annoying >.<

I'm sorry it bothers you ... I mostly set it up that way because I'm not sure the player would always WANT to start from the dungeons. It was that way in the original Zelda, and I guess personally I've grown comfortable with it. It gives the player total control, so they can select "continue" when they die to try the same level, or "save" if they want to abort and explore the overworld.

Well, if the people want to start from the overworld, we can simply exit the dungeon and save the game. I spend much time in the dungeons without saving... >.<

Good point. I'll keep it in mind for future updates ...

I loved how you use the "candle" in this game icon_lol.gif Cool idea

Finished level 4 so far, everything perfect for now. The only letdowns are the Z1 bosses (I don't know why you don't use the enemy editor with bosses) and.. start from the overworld when I save in dungeons icon_naughty.gif

Yeah, I made this in a vacuum without seeing what other people were doing for bosses. I may improve them in the future. I do hope there will still be some surprises, though.

Hey Aevin, finally got back to playing this and got through level six. I looked over a couple of the tips posted here to get through but honestly if I was more patient and observant I could have figured it out faster eventually. Thanks for the item guide though, I had to get the Magic Sword ASAP so I could make some of the fighting easier on myself. icon_heh.gif

If I could give a couple of my thoughts, I think there were probably a few too many Like Likes in that level. In one or two of the rooms, they were very difficult to avoid with the way they spawned and I lost my shield twice. I stopped buying shields before I beat the dungeon actually, lol, but it might help if you toned those down a bit. Also, this screen:

It was actually Moosh who found this, but I don't recall him specifically pointing it out, but if you walk into that section where Link is and trigger the ladder, you can't move unless you reset. You should probably fix that. icon_razz.gif

I'm gonna try to finish this soon and leave a rating on the database, but I'm still enjoying it so far despite the flaws (which are pretty few and have as far as I know have mostly been pointed out anyway). icon_smile.gif

Thanks so much for playing and for your suggestions. I'm glad to hear you're enjoying it.

Yeah, there aren't a lot of enemies I felt right using underwater, so perhaps the like-likes ended up a bit too thick. I'll look over it. And I'll definitely fix that ladder bug.

I hope it continues to entertain. icon_smile.gif

So just out of curiosity, when I found the Trial of Wisdom and beat it, was I supposed to be teleported to the Trial of Power? And upon beating it, is the boss supposed to be gone and is there supposed to be no reward for beating it? I did leave and reenter it first, so I don't know if it was a dungeon or DMap problem, but thought I'd point this out.

Um, yeah ... I wonder when THAT started happening. I keep having troubles with those trials. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

Edit: I can't seem to reproduce it. The trials are on the same map, and it seems like you ended up in the Trial of Power map while on the Trial of Wisdom DMap (was the trial of power blue?). I figured it was a continue screen sending you to the wrong place, but everything checks out. Pretty puzzled ...

Also... how do I find level 8? >.<

EDIT: Scratch that, found the way there, but I can't figure out how I'm supposed to get past this room:

I am, but I'm stuck. How do I reach the upper section of the flipped version of the dungeon?

Nope, Trial of Power was red. Maybe check the level number in the DMap, make sure they're not the same?

The Trial thing ... they're all different level numbers. I'll investigate more thoroughly later. Were you unable to get the reward for the ToP at all? I can PM you a code if you like.

As for the Lv8 thing ... There should be a block to push in a room full of armos toward the middle of the dungeon.
