I just played this game again and it was just as much fun as the first time (2012). Once again I recommend it. Colorful graphics and interesting ideas.
I hope you will make another one Rambly!
Oh, my, thank you. I'm always glad to hear people enjoy it, even this long after it's come out... it's very encouraging to hear.
There'll be another quest by me, eventually. There pretty much has to be by this point; I just don't know when. I don't like talking about progress or showing off too much of what I make because I don't like getting peoples' hopes up if something doesn't materialize or progress is slow, but do know that this likely isn't the last chapter of my, uh, questing career.
What was in the latest update anyway?
The biggest thing was the addition of confetti bombs. I'd always planned on them functioning like they do now, but I didn't have the technical know-how back in 2011 to add them, so the quest had a very sloppy-looking explosion sprite that's irked me for the past like five years or something. Later on, I wrote the code for them and sat on it for a year before finally shoving it into the quest. They look cool, I think, but they're still not perfect (I wish the explosion radius was more, uh, radial). I'd love to fix them up even more, but I prolly have to just let go at this point. Barring any major game-breaking bugs being discovered on down the line, this is probably the last update there'll be for the quest.
Oh. Um. Beyond that, a couple of quest rule fixes (partly related to the above, but I seriously didn't notice that fire didn't hurt you and bombs did during like the last 10 playthroughs I did of the quest). A slight change to the way a puzzle's secret combos worked later on. I also added the (unused for 5 years) title screen to the screenshots list, although I'm still leaving it out of the quest because I don't really like the idea of this quest having an in-game title screen all that much. The only reason I was even motivated to update this quest is because there was a major bug in the first I Hate Mayonnaise that I felt compelled to fix. Then I realized there was some unfinished business in this quest.
