I know it's supposed to be played in 2.10, but given how close 2.5 is to release, it really oughta be tested to see if it'll work reasonably well. Plus 2.10 won't run on this computer. So yeah, I'll be tested it in RC2 and see if I find any problems. If worst comes to worst, you could make a separate 2.5 version that's saved in 2.5 and fixes any compatibility bugs, for those of us without 2.10.

Also, is there/will there be a separate song for the final boss? He really does deserve more than the standard boss music.

I've started playing and haven't found much so far other than lots of fun. The only things I've found are that you can skip the stalfos fight in the sword dungeon on palm island (which you can't really fix icon_confused.gif) and that the map in the dream world says "SlEEPY" with a lowercase L...

Yeah, the Stalfos fight can be skipped, but if you skip it, you won't get the rupees or you won't get the heart piece from Ruto. So it is like a bonus if you follow through his request. The Sleepy, I will look at, Thank you!

That's fine. The reason why this took 5 years to make was because I was trying to hold off until 2.5 was released. I wasn't going to make an update to the 2.10. But 5 years later, I was like... this thing is never coming out and I want to move on from HoD. So I made it and I don't think I will make a 2.5 with extra things. It would have been better because since the last HoD version was all 251 dmaps and this one was all 251 dmaps. I had to merge a lot of maps and dmaps together to get this. But because I am at the limit, there was actually more things I wanted to add, but I couldn't.

I thought about using a recent 2.5 build to test this betra, but all of them have bugs in some form or another that will likely get in the way, so I'll be testing in 2.10.2.

I could assist with making a custom sfx file.

I immediately found a bug, when I press continue in the starting intro, I get into an empty screen. In 2.10.2. It's not a very threatening bug though.

A couple of minor things:
  • On Palm Island, on the screen outside of Donmore's house, if Link goes as far south as possible (underneath the outcropping), then goes all the way to the west or east and stabs, you can see the sword.
  • Grammar: when you see Donmore in Level 1, he says "You seemed to make here alive!"

Playing it right now...Why did I never notice that song playing during the title scene or whatever is "I'll Be There For You"? I'm ashamed of myself.

EDIT: Also, do you care about grammar? I've noticed a couple of things, but I won't bother mentioning them if you don't care.

2.10 has some problems running on my system with graphics for some reason, so i will try it in 2.5 for you if that's ok.

EDIT:

So far the only thing i have found is the map in lv. 1 dungeon can be picked up continuously.

I was stuck on Donmor's cave for like 20 minutes!
I really liked the old one better. It's still a good cave though.

Continuing through the game....

Nice, I will contact you after the weekend about it, as I am going out of town. icon_biggrin.gif Thank you!

You broke it! That's weird, I tested it, and only happens if you do it in the intro, even though in the intro I have the continue here set correctly and it actually sends it to the wrong Map. O_o But I tried to fix it, even if it is a version bug, so hopefully I got it. icon_razz.gif because I am not getting it no more, I did a really fast entrance warp to make a new continue mark. icon_razz.gif

Fixed both!

Sadly can't fix that... Unless I had 2.5... sigh

Yes, I do. I worked so hard on the grammar and spelling... but I suck. So Please Please! Any if you can help. Like for example if it is grammar, tell me what I said, and what would be better. Please Please!

Good, I love puzzles, so the puzzle seemed to be good. icon_biggrin.gif

Okay, first off, the new Donmore's Cave is amazing. Way better than the old one. That being said, I found a glitch. In the screen near the top left of the cave, if you fall into the pit, you don't reappear at the room's entrance. I tried moving around, and bam!, I was at the cave's exit at the northwest end of Palm Island. I'm pretty sure I need an item from the cave to move on though, so I'm heading back in.

Edit: Oh wait, that's not the exit that leads to Island Sorrow. Guess it's not near as critical as I thought it was. Still a weird bug, but there's not much you can do about it, I think.

Okay, here it is: This is a Public BETA release for the re-release of The Hero of Dreams.
It has a lot of extras, but still the same game. If you can, help me out and test the game!

Things on the top of my head that I updated:
-Added a Grave Cave
-Added to Vola Cave
-Changed the Irony Cave
-Changed the Thieves' Hideout
-Added an Extra Level at the end of the game in the Temple of Courage
-Windmill is bigger
-Added some puzzles in some levels
-Changed Donmore's Cave
-Palm Island is tweaked a little bit.
-String Count went from 1400 to 2000+, so if you can, please look for grammar and spelling errors.
-Tried to fix all bugs that have been throughout the years. So let me know if I missed any.
-Added Cave of Ordeals
-Secret Ending
-Made a couple of puzzles easier (well, more clearer), but at the same time added harder puzzles at the end of the game, especially in the Extra level.
-Two more shops, plus golden arrows

Those are just the things I added to the game. So if you can please help me test the game. I want to release the game by next week, so hopefully, you guys can help me out. Thank you so so much!

I need someone to help with making a Sound SFX file for my game too, so if you know how to do it, let me know in the thread, because I need help with that. Thank you!

Here it is: http://www.mbwchampi.../HoDtesting.zip

By the way, please play in 2.10! If one or two of you want to try 2.5, that's fine, but I want the majority of the testing to be on the version it was meant for: 2.10

I like the new one better to be fairly honest. Anyways, Shoelace nice new additions. Diffidently worth playing. icon_smile.gif

Well, you didn't suck, first off. icon_razz.gif There's just been a few things I've noticed. I'll have to play through what I've done again and take note, but one that I recall off of the top of my head was toward the beginning when Link was remarking about having to return home. I believe was something along the lines of, "I better get home before I get introduced to the paddle. Again."

I guess a few people might argue this isn't an issue, but the correct form would actually be, "I had better," or "I'd better," as "had better" is mainly used for recommendations or warnings. (Link is warning himself to return home before he is introduced to the paddle, again.)

Also, as Colossal said, the "You seemed to make here alive!" line is rather...interesting. icon_razz.gif I think it was probably a typo, but I believe the correct phrase would be, "You seem to have made it here alive!"

...Er. I hope I'm being helpful and not petty. But, uh, I'll play more tomorrow and see if I can't find more.
