I'll do it. My hours at work have been cut really badly giving me a lot of spare time, and I wouldn't mind replaying one of my favorite quests in exchange.

I'm quite interested indeed, seeing I never actually finished HoD before and I was planning to play it when this version comes out, so why not play it in the betatesting phase when I can provide myself useful?

Nah, I'd rather give it a full run through anyways. I've got some time to spare for testing.

That's true. I was thinking because of spoilers and such... but it is a re-release. One other thing is I was going to add the testers names to the end of the game credits. So this is what I will do:

On Thursday, I will be releasing a public beta testing of HoD. I went through it and I don't think there should be any bugs at all in the game, but it is a just in case. So that is what I do. If you do end up finding bugs in the game, I may add you to the testers list on the credits, depending on what you find. So that is what we will do, so look for the release on Thrusday, and I will have in detail for a couple of things that I need for the re-release also. Thank you.

So will this update be 2.5 compatible or at least Lost Isle build compatible?

If not, I can understand why (that bug in level 3 made no sense at all). If it is, I'll do my best to find bugs. icon_biggrin.gif

I have only been testing it on 2.10. So I don't know if it is 2.5 compatible or not. I would prefer 90% of you to test in 2.10 as that is how I am going to release it. but I guess it doesn't hurt if one or two of you test it in 2.5, but I can't make any promises on how compatible it is, as it isn't made for that version.

If you haven't changed the entrance to level 3 at all, it's probably incompatble with 2.5, but it MIGHT work on the Lost Isle build which seems to be the closest thing to 2.10 available to Mac and Linux users. I'll have to check.

Oh I changed it. But I can't say for other things. I seemed to play just fine on my playthrough on 2.10

It should work fine then. I'm guessing the problem involved having Link spawn on top of an enemy before the intro string could play, but I'm not sure. I'll give it a try and if it doesn't work, it doesn't work. Speaking of bugs, when I played, I found a bug in the dream world cutscene (I want to say after chapter 2, but I'm not sure) when the wizrobes spot you that I forget if I mentioned or not. IIRC, if you walk into the cutscene area from 1 and a half tiles south of the trees and hold left during the entire cutscene, you end up on a layer screen. I'll see if I can reproduce it in the pre-release.

If you can reproduce that. Because I tried and I didn't see it. I have been looking in Zquest and I can't find that at all. So if you can reproduce it that would be great because I am not finding it (I am thinking you were saying it was after level 2, when the Spirit Rangers find the Triforce piece. But again, I have every way blocked...

Okay, here it is: This is a Public BETA release for the re-release of The Hero of Dreams.
It has a lot of extras, but still the same game. If you can, help me out and test the game!

Things on the top of my head that I updated:
-Added a Grave Cave
-Added to Vola Cave
-Changed the Irony Cave
-Changed the Thieves' Hideout
-Added an Extra Level at the end of the game in the Temple of Courage
-Windmill is bigger
-Added some puzzles in some levels
-Changed Donmore's Cave
-Palm Island is tweaked a little bit.
-String Count went from 1400 to 2000+, so if you can, please look for grammar and spelling errors.
-Tried to fix all bugs that have been throughout the years. So let me know if I missed any.
-Added Cave of Ordeals
-Secret Ending
-Made a couple of puzzles easier (well, more clearer), but at the same time added harder puzzles at the end of the game, especially in the Extra level.
-Two more shops, plus golden arrows

Those are just the things I added to the game. So if you can please help me test the game. I want to release the game by next week, so hopefully, you guys can help me out. Thank you so so much!

I need someone to help with making a Sound SFX file for my game too, so if you know how to do it, let me know in the thread, because I need help with that. Thank you!

By the way, please play in 2.10! If one or two of you want to try 2.5, that's fine, but I want the majority of the testing to be on the version it was meant for: 2.10

I've started playing and haven't found much so far other than lots of fun. The only things I've found are that you can skip the stalfos fight in the sword dungeon on palm island (which you can't really fix icon_confused.gif) and that the map in the dream world says "SlEEPY" with a lowercase L...

OMG, an update of my favorite quest. This is great! Just don't change the LV 1 music. BTW, I am stuck in LV 5, the shadow temple place thing there you need to find the three spirits or something.
