Superbombs are more effective at handling enemies as opposed to hitting him directly, although they certainly do a lot of damage to him if you manage to land them.

My strategy was a RNG hit or miss that involved hurricane spinning him and then using Super Bombs on phase 2.

The hurricane is very effective, but... Its really hard to charge it when every wizzrobe on the block is sticking itself on my sword. I hate how hitting an enemy ruins my charge D: Any tips on charging it quickly and without problems?

FINALLY! I got his cane! It took me 3 powder kegs and a lot of patience, though!
btw, I noticed a bug. If you re-enter the house that zelda is in, she will repeat everything she told you when she teleported you. is this intentional?
Edit: Coincidence that we posted at the same time. But really, I never knew that O.O. Now I know for future playthroughs!
Another Edit: While I was waiting, I tried your contest entry russ! I like the deku leaf ![]()
Triple Edit: Yea, the cane+ Powder kegs let me Completely destroy the arena XD

Edit: Ninja'd. Congrats! Yeah, that's a bug, but Evan can't figure out why it's happening. But hey, congrats on beating him. Enjoy breaking everything with your new cane.

Other quests have the super bomb bug too odd as it is. It's of course fixed in 2.50.1 RC2 from what I can tell, but this quest isn't even playable in that build..
Anyway with the Venser Cane fight, I find it's better to actually Super Bomb him immediately and then Wand the rest of the fight. The enemies actually somewhat help believe it or not. Venser does far more damage than they do, so in a way they're helping you when they hit you instead of him.

What I did was hurricane spin him, then super bomb him until my hands were bleeding, and then... "I never though you could beat me with only the triforce of courage! Take my cane for bragging rights!"
Edit: I hope they keep the super bomb bug. I love being able to have 8 super bombs. I even wish there was an Item that lets the super bomb limit go WAY past that.

get effed Scourge
Against my better judgement I started a zero death Hero Mode playthrough. I'll try not to use the cane against literally everything in the last third of the game.

Congrats Arceus! That's a hard thing to do! It took me such a long time to get it. As for the bug I thought it was very weird when I noticed it because I didn't go back in there until after I beat level 11, and I didn't report it because when re-entered again the cut-scene didn't occur.

So, I have to restart the quest because my save file decided to delete itself when I was transferring computers. With that said, now finishing Level 1, and I have to ask, what's the purpose of the Cursed Skulls?

It will result in something secret toward the end of the game. You'll have to find one in each dungeon to get to it though.
Edit: There will be a dungeon toward the end of the game that'll tell you how many there are and what they are for (it has the same sprite as the sign in Link's Awakening that told you were in a dream).

I am on Level 9 now, and I must say i HATED Level 8!
I'm not saying that the components or elements and were bad, it was a magnificent display of level ingenuity, I especially loved the side-scroll part, but just over all... the level was just so tedious compared to the others that I've gone through sofar!
So yeah, the Level itself isn't bad, but just not my cup of tea when compared to the others.
The boss was quite fun though, especially the second phase.
Sofar this quest, over all, is beyond what i expected to play. I will be doing atleast two more playthroughs as I foolishly downgraded the difficulty to easy right before getting the tunic upgrade and utterly destroying the level 3 boss in an almost nohit run
so I basically was kicking myself and now i'm just going through to figure out where to go in the next playthroughs so i'm not doing a total blind run ![]()

This bug is caused by an issue with event recognition across multiple dmaps with the dialogue script. It shouldn't be too hard to fix; I just need to get off my lazy ass and do it.

Does anyone know the item bug? Every time I go into the menu then when going out the menu it replaces with another item. This is a good game but that bug is just annoying and I dont want to have to do this through out the whole quest.
