Really enjoying this quest but I am stuck . . . where is the path to Din Level 3?  I have completed Nayru Levels 1,2 and 3 and Din Levels 1 and 2 but can not find the path to Din Level 3. Or maybe I missed a weapon or tool that is needed to open the path.  If I knew where the path or entry to the path was I could hopefully figure it out.  Thanks!!

I'm stuck right at the beginning of the Lost Citadel.  I'm hoping it's not another situation where I should've gotten an item in a previous dungeon.  I can go up 3 rooms, but can't go anywhere else.  Probably something simple I'm missing.

Aaaaaaah, the mirror works with Ex3!

Was it mentioned anywhere within the quest that Ex3 triggers the mirror?

It isn't, which is an error on my part.

I inadvertently changed the subscreen in the Black Tower where it doesn't show you can use the Mirror with Ex3.

You need to have the Strong Glove in order to reach Din level 3.

This is found in a blue chest near a Gargoyle statue on the west side of the overworld and south of Din level 2.

You can access it via the cave system which leads to Din level 2.

If you already have it, then go to a building east of Din level 1 whose entrance is blocked by rocks and explore the cave system there.

Also, you will have to trigger the secret in a cave south of Asymmetry City as Nayru to enter the dungeon.

You may be missing the 4th Rod crystal, Winter's Chill.

It allows you to freeze some patches of water.

It can be found within a blue chest inside Din level 7 which requires the boss key to open.

I have been to that chest several times but it will not open.  Guess I am missing a key?  I have been to the entrance blocked by the rocks (obviously can't move them) and I believe I have triggered the secret but can't get to that location on the map yet.  Oh where could I have missed a key?  I will keep re-tracing my steps.  Thanks!

There are 10 blue keys and 10 blue chests on the overworld.

Their locations are arranged so that you can get to the two blue chests which are required without wasting the available keys.

Have you obtained the Harp of Ages?

There are several blue keys which can be reached once you obtain it.

There are also a few blue chests which require it.

To obtain it, use the item from Din level 2 to hit the switch by the first shortcut warp.

This opens a path to the east which lets you get the Harp.

Yes I have the harp and have traveled about. Found a blue chest (can't remember what was in it) and went to an area with boulders and open holes in the ground that I can't pass.  I feel I am missing something else??  Looked at SCKnuckles play-through #4 and see the blue key he got before entering Din Level 2 . . . is that the key for that chest?  If so I must have used it somewhere else.

That area with boulders and holes in the ground won't be passable until you complete Din level 4.

Here's a quick list of the blue keys you can get before Din level 3.

1. East and south of Lynna City near the Graveyard.

2. On Talus Peaks, go through a cave system south of Asymmetry City.

3. As Din, go through cave system near Diabolical Factory.

4. Use the Harp warp by the second entrance to the house at the south side of Lynna City.

 

And here's the available blue chests.

I had overlooked the harp warp that leads to the key that can be seen near the blocked entrance east of Din's Level 1.  Thanks for the assistance!

at the second save point in the tower with both but at din that door is open there but not with nayru and i see i needed a key but ive walked like 4-6 times with both but still no key ...and where is that key from that little blue box just outside a level thought 7 or 8 its also close to a portal (shortcut)

I'm not sure that I  understand your question.

All of the keys required to finish the Black Tower can be found inside it.

The door that is opened for Din is done so by solving a puzzle with Nayru.

There is another puzzle which Din solves to open a door on Nayru's side by the save point.

 

Regarding the blue chests, there are 10 blue keys scattered about the two worlds.

I listed the locations of 4 of each in an earlier post.

There are 6 others.

 

Blue Keys

5. Use a Harp Warp near Din level 6, then travel through a cave sequence.

6. On an island on the way to Nayru level 6.

7. Go through a cave sequence near Din level 6.

8. Use a Harp Warp on Crescent Isle. Requires Timeworn Raft.

9. Use a Harp Warp in the Fairies' Woods. Requires Switchhook.

10. Enter a cave system east of Talus Peaks and north of Lynna City. Swim through the area inside.

 

Blue Chests

5. On Rolling Ridge, near Nayru level 5.

6. In Fairies' Woods. Requires Switchhook.

7. Use Harp Warp in Desolate Desert.

8. Just outside Din level 6.

9. In Frigid Fields near Din level 5.

10. On the way to Din level 8.

 

If you could post a screenshot of your exploration of the Black Tower, I may be able to help with that.

There are 4 keys in the first quarter of the Black Tower and 4 doors.

Here are the locations of those 4 keys.

 

Solve this puzzle. This is required for progression so you probably already did it.

 

Solve this puzzle as Din, then cross over here and collect the key as Nayru.

 

This is not required for progression so it could have been missed.

That one is a little obscure. I originally had 20 letters then broke it into 10 and relocated the other 10 as delivery spots.

On Rolling Ridge near Nayru level 5 is a fairy statue.

There is a set of stairs hidden behind that.

The delivery is there.
