Part 36
It's amazing what you can accomplish when you can see where you're going.

Level 10 is located in the Volcanic Valley, However I think you can do Level 10 and 11 in different orders. I haven't gotten far enough to try though, I just remember someone saying that it was.

I have to say I've been very much enjoying seeing you play through the quest, Melee. After I lost my save files to one of those esteemed 'crashes' you keep encountering, it's been fun at least seeing someone play through it. Though I might miss a few episodes since I'll be out of town for two weeks...
I look forward to when you tackle what you get at the end of the trading sequence, though~
Also, I think what I find the most admirable thing Evan did with this quest was that the entire overworld was done with a single palette of colors...While I can't personally say how that feels, I can imagine it was MURDER to get that arranged, so props to Evan for making such a beautiful overworld.

Regarding the trading sequence, you can finish it now, though I doubt you'd find the last NPC on your own. Grab a super bomb and head back into the cave system on the northern peak.

Okay, you missed 2 items in that dungeon.
The first item you missed was the Obsidian Ring, which halves magic. It can be found in the northern first floor while on red, you have to fall down from the floor above.
The second item was Venser's Cane, which is the most overpowered Cane of Byrna in any Zelda game; while it drains a ton of magic, it kills pretty much anything. You could only get it by beating Venser, though, and he is a one time fight.
Don't worry, you can get an item called the bloody staff which does the same thing later on in the game, but it's use is far less greater, since it's only available right before the final boss (instead of going north in the final area, go south), as the dungeon item brutally hard bonus dungeon that's only unlocked by the 20 cursed skulls. So start collecting up those cursed skulls, because you need every single one.

Again, highly recommend going back to level 9 and getting the Obsidian Ring. Halved magic is extremely useful, especially in the last 3 dungeons. Also, you are currently on the path to level 11. While you can do 10 and 11 in any order, each revolves on their own theme. 10 is more action based, while 11 is more puzzle based. 11 holds the mirror shield and Nayru's Love, while 10 holds the gale boomerang and Din's Fire. Also, you can access 2 golden monsters before levels 10 and 11, 1 for beating 10, 1 for beating 11, and the last 1 after both.

However, Dimentio does have a point about the obsidian ring; that's worth going back into Prismatic Gate for. Furthermore, there's a gold monster you could have gotten any time after level 8 that's worth looking for - check inside a house in Northern Remdra, near the center of Remdra Plains.

On that note, how is Nayru's Love supposed to work? I keep trying it and it doesn't actually do anything.

Pretty much what Russ said. You need a 100% full magic meter without 1/2 magic to cast it or half of one with the Obsidian Ring from level 9. It's not really that useful. By the time you can move, it's already dying out. At best, it buys you 5 seconds of freedom before you get mauled again.

Assuming 8 jar max magic capacity, I assume it takes the equivalent of all 8 jars of magic to use Nayru's Love without 1/2 magic. Similar to Hero's Memory where it takes at least 7 jars of magic to use it.
And yeah, it lasts just long enough to get you out of trouble, maybe get a couple shots in at most.
