this one took me years to tidy up and it still isn't done, it appears. I'm definitely not working on another, yet, not even the one I started this year, also in 1.90. custom quests are only better than official games if they work right. I obviously need to fix this and I'm sorry I uploaded a fail. the screenshots of new versions show it to be worth learning, but it looks hard.

Don't apologize. Not only did you take the time and effort to make a quest, but, overall, you made a darn good one, even if there may be a few things that need to be fixed. This quest actually does way more things than I thought 1.90 could even do.

Takes you to an otherwise inaccessible platform on the hillside, with a rupee, a hammer post, and some ice blocks. Only way to leave is to F6 or to cellphone again.

how do I get into Level 2. I went up the ladder and bombed, got in, now I'm in a room where a hammer is needed and there is a heart awaiting. Is this Level 2? Or am I missing something? I also got the object that was outside.

that's no level 2 yet, musty is a shopping place - the heart piece you'll get it later
when the hammer is in your possession! in that room bomb the upper wall or slash
no to sure"" so you continue going to the uppers side
the guy selling the arrows will warn you of no to kill good peoples -- remember that!

"level two" guy, you're doing fine, keep exploring! for those stuck in level eight, I don't see the problem. three entrances along the bottom of the tower, the third one (dynamite room), leads to the top. I checked each door for warp places and it all looked fine. it goes (like) up up right up left left up, etc. leads to the hammer. I really couldn't see the problem. I know I've taken more than too much of your time, but could you screen shot the rooms up the third entrance? base of the mountain has an entrance room on the first screen from the right (and one above it, I think) and an entrance on the next screen going left (I think that one has a drop-in spot, too). the next entrance is one over to the right and one screen down, accessible by dynamite placed in a tough spot along the top of the screen. well, I didn't have more than six minutes to check it out; so I will play it through for making sure when I get a monitor. sorry.

edit: reading this one back, I may have been dyslexic in my lefts and rights. I'm sorry for the confusion. I think it's correct now.

I am going to beat this game or die tryin'.

OK, first, mea culpa. I WAS missing an entrance to Level 8, since found. I can loop through a series of rooms, first to my right, then up, then back to the left. Finally I get to a room with a locked door on the west wall and a door out on the south wall. I go out the south door and I am outside. From there I go right, up, up, left, left, and I am on a screen where I can SEE the hammer on the other side of some little trees. Three of these trees can be slashed, but not enough to get me to the hammer. Burning the middle tree opens up a passage that does nothing but loop me back to near where I first went outside.

So I can see the bleeping hammer, but still don't seem to have access to it. What now?

I think there's another place you can go from outside. and you really can't get the hammer, eh? I thought this is how you got it, so your question of "what now?" doesn't have a direct answer right now. maybe the computer lab here can be utilized for a monitor. off to check...

edit: alright, there's a computer room in the offices here, so I can go hook up mine to their monitor (old one broke) and explore the specific route to the hammer for you. soon.

okay. I have a much better understanding of the higher levels of the quest, now. the answer for John is that you aren't high enough. get higher. you are really close to rescuing the twin and getting the rest of the items. bring her Gameboy home to her and they mention a town that needs your help. you can beat that level (ten, I guess) and explore (pound, swim, search!) and soon people start telling you to stop playing. kind of an anticlimactic ending, but whatever. I've fixed a few VERY minor things, so take the new download when this place gets its next update. holler.

edit: yay! you are here! okay, I have the program running and I'm online. now is when I can answer a SPECIFIC question. holler!

Got it now. Thanks for all your help and patience. After reading Vravelo's explanation it seemed like I was just supposed to be able to get to the hammer directly, and I didn't think I was supposed to go up and around through the clouds. I figured I wasn't supposed to go there until later. I got the hammer, hookshot, and L3 sword now.

I did find what might be a bug. After you get the hammer and reenter L8, there's a room where you can shoot a statue with an arrow. This makes a stairway appear. When you go down the stairway you enter another room with a free potion and another stairway. The problem is I materialized in the doorway and was stuck. I had to F6 continue and can't access that stairway, which I suspect leads you back outside and lets you access the L3 arrow and maybe the flippers? I can make the flippers appear but I didn't see how to get them.

Otherwise though, I think I'm pretty much done, other that going places I can only go with the flippers. The only other item I never found was the mirror shield.

I don't think it's a real issue, more than compatability, but I've struggled with that room you get stuck in and decided to remove the stairs tile and just reuse the stairs door -- I have other doors that take you to illogical secondary locations, so it won't be too out of place. the arrows you miss out on, which isn't huge, but I would like to know if it is because of the version you are using (like the level two problem, I assume, because of not using 1.90); I don't remember having any trouble there when playing through. let's see... fire boomerang, another sword, mirror shield, scuba gear... would those items fill up your inventory? if you return the Gameboy to the twins, I forget if it disappears from your inventory; I think it must. I'd say try to get every item, but I think 2.10 is preventing you from getting the better arrows... maybe they're on sale somewhere. well, there are a lot of hidden places that are now opened up to you, if you want to explore the overworld and the other dungeon (in the NorthEast town) and the wetlands (in the SouthWest corner). THANKS FOR PLAYING! please give it a good rating (here: http://www.purezc.co...ge=quests&id=65 ) for the database! good communicating, you've been very helpful in letting me understand how it plays to others and I appreciate that. soon.

hmm. I hope you have an old save or extra dynamite. I'm not sure of the specific problem, but did you explore the rest of level six (lots more rooms than the two or so obvious ones. otherwise, wait until you play through level seven, I guess. did you get to the next room in level nine? like the one North of the last? I don't remember specifically, but they all work that way, one at a time. just keep going and come back to level six later, I guess.

any luck, Gekos? I see you were online at noon, so i hope you've had a chance to sort the problem out. holler!

edit: made a few simple changes in the quest and took a bunch of screenshots. I have resubmitted all of the content of and relating to my quest, now that we have our site back up. I looked into making this thing forward compatable, but moving and changing the doors is a lot of work and it would alter the dungeons enough that I'd rather insist on 1.90, even if that means far fewer people play it/enjoy it. anyway, update to follow.

this is the newest version (12/21/08): http://www.filefacto...f/n/HowHigh_qst -- select "2. download with filefactory basic"

New screenshots are in the thread of them.

if you have played a bit into this quest, please give it a quick review at http://www.purezc.co...ge=quests&id=65

stay smiling, y'all.
