The map is just west from the entrance. There are jugs next to a cracked wall in the room where is a big key door to the south. You need to bomb that cracked wall. So, you can start the things by getting the map, as I did in my third playthrough. At the first 2 times I played the game, I forgot to get there until I almost explored the whole Temple.

Where is the Big Key located in level 8? I have the Fire Boomerang from the Citadel Underground, but that's about it (aside from the map and compass). If this is on a previous page, point it out, otherwise point it out here.

I really should be asking this: What is the first thing that needs to be done since this is my first time entering Hyrule Castle?

Once you enter the Hyrule Castle, you can have to go through the path of the top right and top left. To get there the top left you have to hammer the statue (the one with the tonque) to open the door. To get through the top right you have to dive under the water and follow the path under the floor. There are 2 keys on both sides. So that is 4 keys. 2 keys for the item, and 2 keys for the Big Key.

On Hyrule Castle's second floor, there are two sets rooms that look alike to one another. One is dark, one is light. The light rooms have movable blocks and a blocked entrance. I got through one set merely by a fluke. How does one actually solve these riddles? The message of "If all is dark, let the light in." doesn't mean anything to me.

Edit: It doesn't mean anything unless you open a strange symbol in the dark rooms that's actually is a curtain. Numbers come up after that.

Here is a question about the Commander battle itself, but not in fighting it: If the boss of the eigth level is, indeed, the Commander of the Dark Army, then why is the regular boss music playing instead of the Commander Battle midi that I found in the list of midis for the game? Just curious.

Edit: Also, does his armor regenerate if you slow/unlucky? 2nd: It feels as though that after losing to him and retrying so many times, some of the "events" begin to loop into an earlier stage of the fight, thus making it look like he's regenerated.

2nd: Also, Shoelace, if you make a new quest, make it so that there aren't so mant spikes where there's "wind" or "moving floors." It's hard as hell to manuever perpendicularly without being bumped into the spikes 4-9 times and losing 2 portions of potion just to get a key or light four torches with a boomerang. Not to mention a cheap way of dying.

Just to warn you, please don't double post as it is against the rules. I don't know if it was an accident but please keep that in mind okay. icon_razz.gif

Anyways, sorry for making the 8th level so hard. I have gotten that so many times, and I have learned my leason. I had to make some mistakes as this was my first quest. Anyways, rest assure I am not going to make puzzles like that anymore. I am also making a easier version of the game, that I will get to after I am done doing what I am doing in EotM.

And his armor doesn't regenerate. I do make it loop if you don't do a puzzle right though. Again, sorry I made the end so hard.

Also, almost forgot this question about the Commander midi. It was used when you first come across him in the dream. It was supposed to be a reoccuring thing, but it slipped my mind. lol.

Just make an easier verison of level 8 where the spikes don't chase you and your forced to get stuck and probably killed. Some parts are meant to be hard but the Level 8 spike puzzled weren't very fun but had effort in them. And is the Commander's Theme the Storm Eagle stage from MMX?

Nothing. There is nothing in that house. If I ever get around to the sequel, I will explain everything. There are a lot of hints about HoD2 too. Especially about the citys that are in part two.

and yes, the Commanders theme is Storm Eagles song off of MMX.icon_razz.gif

If you make the sequel, I sincerely hope that you keep the boss music from the original aka this game. I couldn't stand for it to be missing from Hero of Dreams 2! icon_cry.gif

Oh, by the by, how long did it take for you to make Hero of Dreams? Could be a broad indicator of how long an undertaking something like a sequel would be.

As far as I know, Shoelace probably will be making a sequel. He's hinted at in in the game (All the villages that were mentioned yet not visitable), and actually told me himself, so... Yeah. Might not be for a while yet though, since he's working on The Dark Shadow and Eye of the Moon... No idea on the boss music though.

Just like Taku said, I am working on EotM and after that The Dark Shadow. So I say, don't except this game to come out any time soon. That is not to say it will be that long for you to remember the storyline. Because EotM and TDS are prequels to Hero of Dreams. It will lead up to the the game. I know the basic storyline for HoD2 and what I am going to do, but that is far in the future. Maybe version 2.12 or 2.13.

Also, because I haven't started on it, I don't know what music I will be using, but if and when I start making it, I will be updating about it, so don't worry about that.

Stuck in Level 5. I've found all keys; I've already used 2 of them. One on the fire floor and one on the plant floor. Now I'm stuck. Where should I be going next?

I really loved this quest, and its difficulty. I hope you continue to make quests as hard as this; I love a challenge.

The difficulty is really wasn't s so problem that some players state. Only the following parts are unbearable:
-windmill
-level7 boss
-level8 spike puzzles
-level8 boss

I also liked the backtracking, this gives the soul of the game. Linearity is the evil.
And... how 'bout having else music for every boss? Not a must, just a thought.

Also, you released TDS demo when you weren't even really starting to make the actual game, so you will release a HoD2 demo long, long before starting to make it, too?
