Well, RC3 works best and I haven't found any problems with using that. I'm not sure about 2.50 but I think that works well too.

After you beat Level 5, head to the screen below the vine-maze area (check the map so you can see what I'm talking about) in the Volcano Plateau and use the Hammer on the peg blocking the cave. Go through the cave and after fighting a Splitter, the Magic Sword is yours.

Thanks for your help, Eddy. I'm at somewhat of an impasse in level 9. I've got 2 keys, and nowhere to use them. There are whole areas on 1F, 2F, and 3F that I haven't been able to access. I could give pictures of my subscreen to show where I've been, but if there's a locked door that you know will send me on my way, please inform me! Thanks!

Have you started off the dungeon? If you have, from the entrance go through the locked doors up north.

The Longshot is in Level 7. From the room below the Mirror Shield room, go down, and go in the stairs. From there, you need 2 keys which can be used to get to the Longshot.
