If you don't know where it is, maybe is because you need to keep going on in the game. Where are you?

I have just finished level 7.....I have struck the rocks above the dark cave but can't get into that.  So, I am also looking for level 8 as well as the ruby.

Go to the very east side of the map. There are two caves between the sea and the part of the map you haven't seen. Good luck

Thanks for the help.....has opened up a surprisingly large area!!  Quest truly has gotten better with each deeper incursion.

This quest is pure magic. I had never played before one quest with this smell of perfection. Graphics, pace, dungeons, overworld, enemies... all fit perfectly. I love the details, like:

-No sound behind the waterfall's caves, apart from the waterfall's sound.

-The way to get the third sword.

-Go to the heavens or to the bottom of the sea to find secrets.

A couple questions -- Do I have to buy the L8 boss key, or is that puzzle solvable?  If it is, don't tell me how to do it, I just don't want to spend an hour failing at it if I'm just going to end up buying the thing anyway.  I already got stuck in the room once and had to F6-continue.  

 

Second, I am nearly done w/ L8 and still only have the L2 tunic.  Should I have the third by now?

You can solve the puzzle, and indeed, you should have the L3 armor before Level 8.

 

I managed to beat the game again, 6 deaths and 4:53 =P

OK.  I'll keep trying on the puzzle.  I would love a hint as to the L3 tunic though.  My death count is going through the ceiling with the 3-heart starts and all the L3 Stalfos.

The fire pendant (book) is in the graveyard, near level 4. Push a tomb surrounded by trees.

 

You need the wand also.

Yes, there is an item, but its an optional one.
