I pushed a minor update to the quest. Slightly lowered some boss damage and HP, and the fairy statues should refill bombs once you've found them. Hopefully I didn't break anything horribly in the process.

Do the statues only refill bombs after you've bought them from the shop?

Worst part in the quest xD :

Spoiler

It's my only gripe for now. These puzzles feel totally out of place and they are really convoluted...

Apart from that, I'm loving the quest.

Yeto, you can solve that puzzle.

I find it ironic that basically everyone hates the slide puzzles lol. That's one of the most straightforward rooms in the quest.

I have a video of the first boss getting destroyed, but coming from me, I doubt anyone will find it particularly enlightening.

TheOnlyOne, the fact the quest doesn't teach people what they need to know is what puts me off from this quest. There's pretty much no help from the get-go so all you get to do is wander around like a lost puppy and it doesn't feel like you can ever know what you need to do. I have yet to actually acquire any items, and I've been wandering around like a lost puppy for at least 30 minutes. I'm not getting anywhere. I've given up. :v

Straightforward, yes, but not necessarily the easiest. The slide puzzles are in the same kind of category as a Rubic's Cube. You either have to be able to plan out moves FAR in advance, or else learn and memorize the proper algorithms to solve the puzzle. If you do the latter, you can essentially solve any puzzle of the type. So the slide puzzle may be straightforward, but essentially requires that you learn and master an entire new type of puzzle, which is a far more complex process than, say, figuring out a hint for where to walk through a wall.

Looking back on it, I think the slide puzzles are pretty easy if you have a reference. Maybe you could have the reference puzzle show up on the map?

Although, your avatar puzzle was clearly the harder of the two, because it's too pixelated to make any sense of it at first glance.

Slide puzzles takes too much time to complete. I think they are the big roadblock, and also they don't fit the design philosophies of the quest. They are a gimmick, the rest of elements in the quest are very well integrated and coherent.

It would be more forgivable if they have less pieces, or just one slide puzzle... imo.

Can't seem to make progress in the castle with one red key and one blue key. Am I just over looking something?

Update: Never mind , I was overlooking something

You can arrange it so that the blocks hit all the blocks but one, and also have an infinite loop of magic. With another block push, you can double the amount of magic in the loop. Changing the direction of one of the cannons so it hits the final switch around the same time the magic in the loop hits the others is the final step.

Spoiler

Also, is there any way past that fire without taking 8 hearts of damage? I figured the item from the 2nd boss would make you immune, but it sadly doesn't (which would've been cool).

Edit: Nevermind. I figured it out.
