Yeah once you finish Level 3 and get the letter, then you can fill magic easily at any of the potion shops and it's not an issue anymore. I'm talking about playing through Level 1, 2, the white sword palace and exploring for overworld secrets while not being able to refill magic unless you run through to the graveyard.

Edit: Found a bug in Level 4, stepping on the teleport in the block puzzle brings you back to the dodongo room, but up in the corner wall instead of on the floor so go get stuck and have to restart.

One criticism I have that really kills a decent amount of the fun factor though is the scarcity of being able to refill MP early on. With needing to use the candle so often in the first few levels/burning bushes in the overworld, there ought to be enemies that drop magic or shops selling magic potions. The one shop that's accessible is a pain to get to with those cool new Lynels.

Now I understand what you mean by running through the graveyard.  The Shop in the graveyard should be a Potion Shop (i.e. require the Letter to conduct commerce).  In a future update, Shop 0 (the closest being one screen northwest from the start) will include Magic Decanters instead of Life Potions.  There will also be a few more Magic Decanters within dungeons as well.  I overlooked the need for a player to have a constant source of Magic refills when I transitioned from the Magic-less First Quest Layered to the Magic-requiring Second Quest Layered.

The Level 4 teleport bug was a major oversight on my part.  It was intended to prevent a player from trapping himself or herself by transporting a player back two rooms south, but I forgot to place the Warp Return Flag there.  The future update will merely reset the block puzzle room and return the player just in front of the doorway of the room.

Spoiler

There is a potion shop three screens west of the start (where Level 3 was in the original Legend of Zelda).  Of course, you will have to travel one screen north to cross the stream.  Are you missing the Mushroom (Letter)?  Since you completed the first three levels, you should be able to obtain it by now.

I guess I should consider replacing the Life Potion with a Magic Decanter in Shop 0…

Thank you boram_c  i burned bushes at the wrong place.

And btw i miss a key to this door any hints?

I assume that you are killing every enemy in each room you explore, right?  In this case, check the east wall of a sand filled room.

At Level 4, where can I find the passage that leads me to the boss door?

You have already fround the dungeon item, right?  I suggest that you use it in the room most likely to require it.  Make sure you are standing where the item has to be used.

Where is the Blue Ring?  [It] could be a nice thing to have now.

You cannot buy the Blue Ring unless you have the Wallet and 475 Rupees.  Once you have both, the dungeon item you picked up will help you uncover the Blue Ring Shop.

This Level 6 is proving to be difficult. Was I supposed to have found the Lens, Hammer or Cross by this point? I found 2 keys and a compass so far but not sure how to continue. I'm guessing I need the Wand for those purple statues I keep seeing.

There is no Lens of Truth in this quest.  The Hammer and Amulet (Cross) are present, but the Hammer is not in Level 6.  Your guess about the purple statuettes is correct.  Just to be clear, orange or yellow statuettes usually require a Boomerang to activate, short purple statuettes require Wand magic, either direct or indirect (i.e. reflected), and tall purple statuettes require a strike from the Wand.  Look for blastable and false walls, but be weary of fake blastables.

Believe me, I know you pretty well. LOL :)

Level 6 frustrated me to no end, but I'll try.

You pretty much have to wing it. Because there's so many over/under bridges in this quest, you can get easily frustrated. Keep in mind there's cracked walls that can't be bombed.

Attention, all players of Second Quest Layered:

It is possible to prevent yourself from completing Level 6 if you do not unlock the door leading down to the block maze.  Traveling through the block maze is required to obtain the Boss Key, which is essential to reaching the dungeon Boss and obtaining the Triforce fragment.  Because all of the keys are level specific, you cannot "borrow" a key from another dungeon to use in Level 6.  Therefore, if you use your first two small keys to obtain the first two dungeon items, then you will prevent yourself from completing Level 6 and, consequentially, the entire quest!

An updated version has been uploaded and is now available, and it addresses the issue by keeping the block maze unlocked and adding another locked door on the way to the first dungeon item.  If you downloaded Second Quest Layered before then and have yet to enter Level 6, then download the updated version.

Until then, when you first enter Level 6, use the first small key you find on the locked door leading into the block maze.  Work your way through the block maze to obtain another small key.  Use that small key on another locked door leading to the southeastern portion toward the first dungeon item.

I apologize for any inconvenience caused and hope that you still enjoy this quest.
