Most players don't replay quests, you have to judge a dungeon quality, length and difficulty based on the logic that it's the first time the player is in it. After all, most of the puzzles will be very easy once you know them, this should be basic logic.

What? What do you mean most players only play through a quest once? That's ridiculous. Hero of Dreams, along with many other quest, are way to great to play just once. That would just suck.

Is the bug in the 3rd duengon fixed? Any news on Eye of the Moon?

The bug is fixed and will no longer have problems. Eye of the Moon, is on the shelf until 2.5 is released and then I will plan on making the game then. icon_razz.gif

This is going to be so weird, but could you make the Cerbat shrine harder? I mean, it was f***ing annoying as hell the first time I played it, (I still love it though) but the third time, it's just easy now. Also, It might not be possible, but season isle, even the first time felt a bit to short. It's the greatest Zelda classic dungeon anyone has ever made, but I think it doesn't last long enough. It took like 2 hours the first time, but the second time it only took around 40 minutes to an hour.

I redid some things in Cerbat Shrine, but isn't to point of making it different. It will be a little bit easier (in bad guys) actually, but have some new puzzles that are more fun and more clever then some other puzzles I had. But I think for a Zelda Classic game, my game is pretty long. So Season Isle will stay the same size and no big changes will be made on that one. But again, I will make a few extras that will be very pleasing for the hardcore gamers.

Yeah, this is actually the best way that I know I did something right with my game. If someone replays my game, it is an honor to me. That means I made a good game. Yeah, the first time you play the dungeon is always different when you judge it by playing it a second time. But if you can get good responses with both ways, you know you made a good level.

You should not tie down people by your logic, everyone thinks and acts on their own. There are players who play the same game again, but there is also a great number of people who only play something once.

I'm not saying this quest is not good, nor am I saying this quest is not good enough to play through again, that's something each individual player will judge.

The first time playing through something is the most important one, as players will form their opinion based on it. Obviously, if players think it's worth playing it again then it's something that is good, but changing something up to appeal more to players who play through it more then once then you risk players who might only play it once to enjoy it a whole lot less.

None of those options are wrong and it's something the designer needs to decide on. But it's a fact that the first play through of something is subsequently different if played through again.

Mmm, that's the gist of it, good luck!

This is like a race between Shoelace and April...and April's winning. But it's OK, take your time.

Wellllll... a hardcore Quest-maker would surely go the extra mile and install some replay value into their game, amirite? icon_cool.gif One of the reasons I play Legend of Zelda (NES) so many times over again is because there's so many possible ways TO play it, since the dungeons are all done in a freeform order. Even something as simple as that could work wonders for a Quest. Time Attack mode might be somewhat of a cop-out method, but it works too. So there's just two examples. It's something to consider, at least.

I just started playing this game last night, and got to level 3 today, only to find out it is glitched on my version of zc =(. I was enjoying the game a lot, and would like to play the new version when it comes out. Is this where it will be posted at first?

Yes, I will post it here first. Sorry, I have gotten a little busy, so sorry for the wait. I am on Map 53 on the strings, so almost day, and then going to add a couple of things just so it will be more polished.

But Sorry JustinT2, it will be done hopefully soon, and I will be posting it here on this thread first.

It's probably been over a year since I've posted here, though I occasionally look through and see what the community here has been producing, but this definitely has me pretty excited! icon_smile.gif HoD was definitely one of my favorite quests that I played, so playing an updated version with added storyline to line up with EotM and everything else you mentioned in this thread, I will definitely be trying this out once released! I seriously doubt you will have any trouble finding people to test it for you, but if you would like to add another to the list... icon_wink.gif

Also, this isn't a remake, just an update. I am going to update it on PureZC's database, then advertise it on Youtube. icon_razz.gif

Will the original version still be available? You could package the two together. I'm not sure what the quest size limit is on the BD these days, but I would think it has to be a bit higher now.

Anyway, it sounds awesome. I'll be looking forward to this. Are you using 2.10.2, or just plain ol' 2.10?

Anthus, does it matter? If I understand it right, 2.10 quests play in 2.10.2, and vice versa.
