The smith doesn't want to seem to give me the sword, even though I have four triforce pieces.

I'm assuming this must be because I am stubbornly trying to play with 2.10.2, rather than download 1.90 as you strongly suggest. Is the dynamite somewhere in the area above L4 that the arrows allow me to access?

I may have to download 1.90 if I want to finish. I hate to have to start over, but, I don't think it would take me long to get back to where I am.

you'd need to prove your worth to get the next sword no matter which version you play in. the Triforce count isn't relevant, really. dynamite should be available somewhere before you need it.

I've done all the dungeons up to level 8. But where is the hammer located???

Can you tell me where the walkthrough is located? I cannot find the dynamite or L5. I think I have looked everywhere, although obviously I haven't. Also, I have 10 hearts. I assume this is not enough to get a better sword. Playing with the wooden sword this far into the game is starting to not be fun. Beating the gleeok to get the cellphone was quite an ordeal.

YOU ARE ABLE to get that sword now, you just haven't figured out how. level five is just a bit left of level four. like two screens over or so. just triple check each screen for an item and a door. good luck.

and I THINK the hammer is atop level eight, but I haven't played that far into the game in years. it does exist, I'm pretty sure.

I've done all the dungeons up to level 8. But where is the hammer located???

I got the hammer but no to sure,, I think grabbing at level 7 after killing a nasty dragon (100 heads or so)

pretty sure it's in level eight, or accessible through level eight. I can't check for you right now, 'cause I'm on a Mac and not at home.

he makes a good point about the quest going left. I believe that each new dungeon is literally left of the previous one. maybe North or South, but each is West of the last, except those after level seven.

Yeah, I got the sword. That was really obvious and I'm, quite frankly, an idiot for not figuring that out. I'm so used to just walking over new swords once I have enough life to get them. This quest sometimes requires one to think outside the box a bit, and that's a good thing.

I've looked around on the screens west of Level 4 and haven't found much, but I must be missing somthing. I'll keep trying.

Edit: Found it. Man, I'm better than this.

I like the things I thought of trying in 1.90, none of it too revolutionary, but I know I was the first to do a few things (Deku tree spitting is an example) because I tried a LOT of things, some that even worked. the release of the sword is NOT an example of such creativity, but I am relieved that you figured it out.

Well, I'm stuck again. I got the L2 sword, I beat Level 5, got the dynamite, the raft, the purple lighter, all good. I found parts of Level 6 and Level 8. My problem? I need a key to go anywhere in Level 6 and to get the key I think I need the power glove, L2 bracelet, whatever it is in this game, but I cannot find it. Hint?

Edit: Belay that help request for now. I managed to access a new part of the overworld.

pretty sure that the level six key runs the same way the rest do. in level six, or accessed from there, you find an item that allows you access to the next key in the keys dungeon. level six has a few tricks to it, though. level seven is much more straight forward. you only really need the symbols from each level at the end, so you can get the item from each level, then go back after and get all of the symbols that get you access to beyond level eight. be careful with dynamite, as the supply is limited and dropping it unintentionally may cause you to need to restart the game or load an earlier save state. good progress, John. anybody else? thanks, y'all.

Yup. I finished six and now I'm on 7. I've been pretty careful with the dynamite although I did waste a couple. I hope you gave some margin for error. If I had to start over for that reason I'd probably give up.

Edit: I can't really get anywhere in 7 unless there is another entrance. I beat the Gleeok but I need a key. To advance further in 9, and presumably get the key, it looks to me like I need the book. A hint indicated the book was in 9, but I don't see how that would work. So, as usually seems to be the case, I am stuck.
