so i can get through lvl11 boss first phase almost damage free.  but the 2nd phase is brutal.  i can avoid taking damage, but can't seem to land hits on her during this phase.

The level eleven boss is all about patience. Make dodging her attacks your main priority, and hit her with arrows when you get an opening. Using the sword is probably a bad idea. It'll take a while, but slow and steady wins the race here. Don't endanger yourself by charging at her, just bide your time and wait for a good opening to attack.

well i'm done for now.  spent more than an hour trying to defeat her.  the bosses in this quest really frustrate the hell out of me.  their difficulty far exceeds the difficulty of the rest of the quest, and while they are well designed they just aren't fun in my opinion - they deal too much damage, have unpredictable or almost unavoidable attack patterns, and have require too many hits.  a boss health bar might help to make players feel that they are accomplishing something and in figuring out which weapon is the most effective.

 

i'll probably go down to easy mode to finish the quest, but it seems like such a shame to do that so late in the game.

After completing level nine and its boss, it's a reward if you managed to beat Venser during that battle, but that's no easy task. A similar item can be found in the bonus dungeon however, but that's not until endgame.

Lame. Having such a hard time with Medusa… Evan sux...

 

One more thing… I beaten 4 of the gold monsters… The gold moblin, the gold stalfos, and the two gold monsters in the top right and bottom left of the map. How do I get to fight the Gold Lynnel in the town?

Only after Ive finished level 11?   You're a sick man… Medusa is too tough without Jubbzing her to death...

If you're really having problems with her and don't want to go down to easy, Superbombs will cut through her health really quickly.

From the healing statue outside Remdra Castle (level7), go 2 screens west and one screen north. Enter the house and its in the basement.

 

Are there only 5 gold monsters? How many in total?

 

 

And Ive done both (downgrade difficulty and use super bombs…) she still kills me… can't get the final hit...

Im in level 8 and cant find the final key (not the boss key). Halp...

The most commonly missed one after you have the power glove is south of the maze area in B2.


As for the hint shop... I'm at a complete and utter loss. In the editor, it looks fine yet ingame it appears to be playing the wrong strings. At this point I'm close to just canning the shop altogether and having NPCs give you hints. I'll post a full bug report in the ZC release topics in a bit.
