Thanks for the bugfix. Usually, when I think something's impossible, I'm just missing something. I wasn't sure I'd ever get that Tinwhistle. This is a fun quest.
Could you tell me or tip me as to how you got the whistle? I downloaded the newest update but I still can't find a way to it.

Hi! are the boots on this level -4?
those spikes are draining my health!

There aren't any boots, unfortunately. You'll just have to time yourself correctly and wait for them to retract and be careful not to get hit while they're down.
Hey! Guys. Guys. Guess what?
I'm releasing another update soon!!
"Hooray," says the audience, "we have to download and replace our quest file again!"
Well, here's some good-ish news: This time, the update really is optional. You can continue to play 1.00.3 if you so desire, and there is nothing in that version that'll keep you from being able to beat the quest.
Okay, now here's some really, really bad news: One of the heart containers is irretrievable if you don't update.
More good news: This update has been tested more rigorously not only thanks to myself, but also Sephiroth, PokemonMaster64 and Eppy, thanks to their streams. They managed to catch bugs in the quest that not even I could have. So thanks, guys. I'm also making a few graphical/aesthetic updates and making super-expensive items a little bit cheaper so you don't have to grind as much. Phew.
Bad news: It's still a new update. And I still really, really recommend that you download it.

Sorry, I couldn't figure out how to post an image. From entrance, go up, left, left, up, up. You'll find a hidden stairwell in that room, and after that the path is pretty straight forward. You end up below the pathway to the whistle.
Anyone have the silver arrow? I got the second glove from "bar." Then I got Din's Fire. I can't figure out how to get to the dragon you pass while you're on a raft to "bar." I'm not even sure that's what I want to do.

I am amazed that you managed to get all of that stuff. Anyway, you can't beat that dragon. What you can do:

Edit/Addition: Thanks for the great game. I played part one right before this one and had a great time with both. It's fun to finish the games, but then you kind of wish it wasn't over. I'll have to find another one.

"No."
Oh, okay.
Well, here's the new version, complete with many bugfixes, difficulty adjustments, and some minor graphical adjustments, among other things. It's 1.05. See how the number in the middle changed? It's an actual honest-to-god revision that isn't just a bugfix!! :>
Depressive Donuts: I Hate Mayonnaise 2
Version 1.05
With maps (3.80MB)
Without maps (1.76MB)
Here's the changelog if you want:
- Fixed a staircase leading to a heart container that was previously unobtainable.
- Changed the torch tiles in level 4. They were hideous before.
- Fixed a few walkability bugs in level 3.
- Fixed the bug where you could sequence break in the Undeath Tree.
- No more treasure chests because they looked particularly ugly and didn't fit the "classic" style of the quest! They're all either item rooms or just items out in the open now.
- All ice in the quest is now combo type 0 instead of combo type 13. In other words, ice doesn't slow you down anymore. I've found that the slowdown added unnecessary tedium and I'd never used the ice for anything other than decoration (as opposed to placing it strategically to make rooms harder). So there you go.
- Changed the item bubble sprites.
- Thanks to 8-bit mode, purple rupees look a little better now.
- Changed the book sprite.
- Changed a room involving spikes in the America dungeon to be a little more fair.
- Added a switch when leaving the boss key room in level 4 (so you don't have to get stuck).
- Made "automatic" switches a little more sensitive.
- Made the hookshot drippy, for whatever reason.
- Made a subtle change to the Aquamentus's horn.
- Burn flags are now triggered instantly. This speeds things up significantly (especially in level 4), makes burnable areas a bit easier to find, and I didn't see any negative side effects that would come from disabling it. Please don't prove me wrong.
- Added a few hints. I realize now that mandatory items shouldn't be ridiculously well-hidden the way they are. Dammit.
- Made the red ring toll road guy a bit cheaper (but only a little bit).
- Made the path to Shiptown Township not hidden. Hiding it was kind of a cheap move on my behalf, to be honest, even with the arrow hint, since it's a mandatory location in the game.
- Made the whistle warp ring much more useful. Now, instead of dungeons that you never have any reason to revisit, it takes you to the potion shop, the wand shop, the screen just before the entrance to Whoaness, and near Shiptown Township.
- The boss of America is no longer Digdogger. This allows you to beat the dungeon as early as before Level 2, if you really want to.
- Thanks to the power of COMMUN--I mean, more intelligent price selection, all of the bomb upgrades in the quest are fixed at the same price.
- Speaking of which, I fixed the staircase to one of the bomb upgrades.
- Made super bombs cheaper. Since you have to buy them a grand total of three times in the quest (and one is mandatory), this only made sense.
- Getting through the frozen cave no longer requires the bracelet.

As for what you can do after Level 5, the only thing you can do is go into the Death Tree and get the item there after beating the "Bar". I just added that as a novelty, really--all you really get for doing that is bragging rights, since by that point in the quest it won't really aid you much.
