Phosphor, did you make the walltiles yourself? They look awesome.

Nah, they came stock with the tileset I'm using, Revenge 2 Tileset - 2.50 Edition.

The screenshots for the set are quite outdated, unfortunately, so only two wall sets are shown (and the first of the two shown happens to be my least favorite).

There is something vaguely familiar about this place.

Ohhhh, but I DID!

I might actually upload this in my sig or something for anyone who wants a randomly mirrored Z1 OW for anything really. IIRC, you use to be able to flip screens, and maps in 2.10, but it got cut for being buggy, and weird.

I worked on the last dungeon in my quest today and meanwhile betatesting is at full speed! Kudos to the testers, they are great!  :bounce:

Got about half-way done with the next basement of my Ice dungeon. I had the idea of having it transition into a fire dungeon, the deeper you go, so I started to do that. Only one screen so far.

Spoiler

In other news, I got bored and took a look at one of my old quests. I replaced all of the sound effects with the Tim Allen grunt and changed every song in the soundtrack to a midi version of the Home Improvement theme. I'm hesitant to upload it here, due to it not being a radical enough of a change from its source material, but it's quite funny listening to Tim grunt every time you slash your sword, pick up an item, kill an enemy, etc. I also tweaked the strings in the game, changing every instance of "Link" to "Tim", every instance of "Hyrule" to "Tool Time" and every mention of "Ganon" to "Al".

What am I doing with myself.

Ohhhh, but I DID!

You know, a few years ago, a guy made a thing called MooDDooM - taking the entire Doom game and reversing everything in it, even down to the sprites. And even though I've played the original maps probably a thousand times, it was THE single most damnably confusing gaming experience I've ever had. And now you want me to have the same experience in ZC?? No thanks :P

I'd imagine the bugginess/weirdness would have to do with the fact that there would need to be a flip-combo index for most areas. Flipping a dungeon screen would invert the corners and angles of the bricks if there were no way to tell it, "hey, when flipped, swap combo 540 with 583 (or whatever) to retain angles and perspective."

But I could see that feature being useful for outdoor scenes with lots of trees and maybe some rocks.

When I replayed TP on the Wii, I had a very similar sense of disorientation. Just when you think you know something... Even OoT 3D's MQ was a bit jarring at first.

And yeah, I think that's why they got rid of it too. It could only flip the layout, and not swap combos cause it wouldn't know, like you said. I never actually used it, but I remember seeing it.

I'm getting closer:

Was messing around with some really old tiles. This is the second screen in on the top left on my flipped OW from a few posts up.I actually like the way it turned out. It looks really nice when it is animated. I'm working on pseudo-parallax scrolling clouds.

Anyone know of a good, free, watermarkless .gif making program?

I've always used Microsoft GIF Animator. It's ancient and you have to manually set the undraw method for each frame, and ditto for frame lengths, but it actually works fine for simple purposes like showing off animated screenshots, IME. I'll throw it up on my personal webspace so you don't have to dig around potentially sketchy free download sites: here.

I think GIMP allows you to make animations too, but you have to do weird things like use layers as frames or something. Might be info about it in the documentation somewhere.

I was gonna make a gif in the player, till I ran into this display issue. Thanks for the program though, I'll use it if I can see the tiles correctly in the player.

EDIT: I found a workaround.

Still like it quite a bit. The animation is nice. Will make a gif tomorrow. Gotta get to sleep.

I just realized, this is one of the very few screens I've made with 100% custom tiles :heh: (I know the water is hella repetitive. It's a screen for testing the sky :P)
